Psyfool..i really like the scene you have there. I myself am working on the Tamiya Marder III and I am loving it. Could you show us some pics of the detail inside. Would love to see what you did with it. The camo looks really good also..Looking forward to seeing more.

Thanks Mary!..I'll try to get some shots of the inside, but to be honest, I don't think I really detailed it that well internally..In fact I thought of covering the whole top with a canvas!..Probably u could give me some tips instead..

It looks good to me :-)
few suggestions:
- It looks glossy to me (i guess you planed a matt coat but just had to notice....)
- add some more debris on the ground, pieces of sidewalk, bricks, paper...
- use some stone gray pastel chalk dust on lower parts of marder and on his tracks to blend it with the street. ALso some on the boots of figures
- add a piece of bent barbwire on the steel object
the figures are donce very good!
cheers

Thanx Mirko!...Actually, I've already given the Marder a matt coat but it's still glossy...Probably I'll give it another coat...I also intend to add some debris, but what is the best thing I shd use?

Well it depends of wht you have, some plaster brick could do, if you dont have them , try to find a regular house brick and chop it off to small pieces and use them... also some stones can help... small pieces of paper and garbage... its a city street in war time right? try to imagine no comunal service working, explosions...
add enuff but take care not to add too much, thats the trick
you have an good scene there, add few more touchups and its gonna be an excellent one.

Thanx for the tip Mirko!...Looks like I have to go hunt for a piece of brick now!...When u mentioned 'pastel chalks', what do you mean actually?..Chalks as in those use on blackboards?...Or crayons?..Or is it a special stuff for modellers? Sorry to ask a lot of questions...For your info..I don't have an airbrush and have never airbrushed before, so I need to wheather manually by brush.

Pastel chalks are non of the 2 you mentioned.
Pastel chalks look like the white chalk used on boards but are much finer and in many diferent colours, they're easy to use, just sand off in fine dust and than applied with a dry brush. There are also many other tehniques for using them
Pastel chalks
you can buy them in any artist store, they're not expensive and last for a long time

Actually, I was trying to replicate one of the camo patterns shown in the tamiya instruction sheet. The one with large Dark Green spots rimmed w/ red brown w/ Dark Yellow b/g. As I don't have an airbrush, I improvised using plastercine to mask and hand painted the red brown rims. In the end, it turned out quite O.k and believable.

Nice work,
I to like the paint job and the weathering is also great along with the basework.
Good job.

Nice job, love the camo, nice scene, nicely prepared the whole thing looks complete and unified.
One thing I'd like to add is the officer with leggings (leather leg wraps), could use a bit of weathering on the leggings and boots.

Job well done. I love the camo job on the Marder. Your figures look very good as well. I agree that the street could use some debris. Other than that, it's a great little dio.

I think it's very nice indeed - the figures in particular are excellent! I've been trying to do my first oil painted figures all week, with little success thus far. Would love to be able to achieve something like you have...

I'd lose the bright chain over the gun barrel, or is the travel lock broken and that is a replacement?
I agree with others on the ground litter and general clutter on the ground, even in the road.

Thanx all for all your very positive comments! ..The camo turns out to be much better than expected, I didn't realise you guys really like it!...
About the chain, it's not done yet...I just hung it there for visualisation purpose..It'll be weathered heavily and will look worn and rusty soon....I'll be adding a bit of debris as suggested and some jerry cans lying around...Thanx again guyz!!

.... very sharp of you to notice that! :-) these small 'humurous' situations make such dio more interesting! i wonder if psyfool did that intentionally..... hmm..

Nicley done your dio looks great so far as others have said the camo on the tank looks very good, but i really like the figures, i wouldn't get rid of the chain i would move it to the front and hang it from the towing hooks.

Ha!!..Ha!!...Actually, I took the idea from an archive photo somewhere near the end of the war in Germany...Saw a No Parking sign next to a Sherman..Tot it would be nice to include it as it has a bit of red to add spice to the dio... :-)
