Sponson bottoms and one-piece tracks too!!
Hopefully, Trumpeter's prices will be a lot more competitive than Tamiya's
Looks like the M4A1 is a large hatch from the pictures.

David,
Apparently it'll sell for about $19...
Just waiting for my staff permissions to be sorted and I'll be back at the news desk - and this story is on my hit list... :-)

As mentioned, the M4A1 hull indeed has large hatches. Perhaps they will be offering an M4A1E8 as well.

Well, that's more expensive than Tamiya's Sherman, which sells for about $14.50 USD here in Japan. If Trump's standard global pricing strategy holds, their Shermans should be about the same price here in Japan, making them a good bit more expensive than the Tamiya kit. ($19 vs $14.50)
I'll still get 'em, though!

yes seems all the main stream manufacturers are catching or have caught the 1/48 virus. It comes in two versions...Shermans and Tigers!

The thing that should be interesting...is are they going to upsize them into 1/35 scale or even a 1/16 scale offerings

NO, they aren't going to upgrade theme to 1/35 or even 1/16 th. Those quarterscale things will keep on flooding the modellingworld

I KNEW I shouldn't read this thread. Soon as I saw it I started to salivate. Then it dawned on me, "It's going to be 1/48 scale." Sure enough. Sigh, I was kind of hoping to see a Trumpeter 1/35 Sherman. Oh well, congratulations to you guys who do quarter scale.
Mr Roo, that linke just about made up for the lousy moring I'm having. Very good.

Chad - Do you have a source for the duece and a half rumor? Quite a few of us would be most pleased if it were true. Emil

isn't the 2 1/2 ton cargo truck a 1/35 offering of a repackaged duece, after market load and a couple of new figures ?
Or am I mistaken ans it is a new 1/48 offering ?

I've got to admit that I for one will definitely be picking up Trumps Easy 8, it's my all time favourite Sherman.
Price wise here in Aus Trumpeter (and DML) are always heaps cheaper than Tamiya.
Cheers
