My beginning of my contibution is described right here, and due to a great weekend, i am more or less done with the base.
This has really been diomaking on a budget - materials are all leftovers from houserepair - a piece of drywall, some wallpaint, a piece of MDF board, catlitter, groundup real brick and drywall and oils and washes.
All in all, price - 1$ - me like :-)
Heres a inprogress shot:
And here is the finished base:
Now i "just" have to paint the figures ...

Cool piece of work Jan. The ruins look really great. The paintjob and weathering looks very realistic.
All of this for 1$. Ahh, the miracle of scratchbuilding.

Just a few pics to show the figgies in the setting - somebody might notice that the Pantherturret got lost in the process - it just didn“t look right.

Looking at the pics, I have to agree with the panther. Good choice. It is almost beneficial not adding it, because all the armor guys will stare at the turret and not the scene as a whole . Seeing the buildings gives a whole new perspective on the end result. The placement looks great. Can't wait to see it all done and with all the nitty gritty details.
Oh, I also noticed the missing handcart; is that just not showing or did it, too go the way of the turret?
Jeff

That is real beauiful. I like the way how the building turned out. Very realistic.
Your $1 base looks like a $100 dio.

Nice work Jan, colors are great! Seeing the figures and jeep, great visual intrest. Well thought out storyline, just goes to show you don't have to spend a ton of money for good results. I will be anxious to see the final product.

Thanks folks!
I“m working on the figures and i“ll post some inprogress shots tonite.
The jeep has got some dusting with pigments to make it blend in a little and is basically finished but will need something to make it more "lived-in". I“ll post some pics of i later.

Jeep is more or less done, dusted up and waiting for getting piled up with boxes, weapons, personal gear and other stuff.
