I updated to Netscape 8.0......
RUN....RUN....RUN.......
takes me 4 tries to get to my Armorama Email account and 90% of the time tells me I'm logged in, then tells me I'm unknown.
Seems to have a mind of it's own, and I don't like how it thinks, or works....
also seems to have disabled my old netscape7.2...... that won't even open.

Spent two hours typing in, passwords for various sites, and billing accounts...... worked fine...... closed it out....... came back not one password worked........

I'll be downloading all my netscape book marks, and installing them over on IE. Then unistalling this crappy program......

OK... done venting.......

Dave - Sorry to hear of your troubles, but now you have learned the first rule of software upgrades "Newer ain't always better, upgrade when you have to to fix a problem, not just because you can".

An old lawnmower repairman gave me this pearl of wisdom a long time ago "If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it".

Well now you know "and knowin' is half the battle, says GI Joe"

OH God.... now I got about 500 bookmarks to sort through.........
I'm sure I have double, and triples and probably 4's of many......... you're right, can't spell quadtriple.....
But at least the IE spell checker can.......

So many booksmarks....... so little time.......
Think I'll take the night off and work on my two wheels campaign piece, and stay off the computer.......

Dave I have a similar problem with Words 2003. My words 2002 works fine but with Words 2003 the puter keeps locking up.

So new does not necessarily mean better in some cases.

Mr Rooo:

Does your computer meet the minimum requirements(sorry for sasking...habit as a computer programmer)

secondly, have you been to microsoft .com and gotten teh service packs for Office 2003? I know that there are lots of bugs in the Office suite and most have been sorted out.

THe only other thing is that your windows could be corrupt. Have you formmatted your computer lately? It is recommended to atleast reformat your machine once inb a year to refresh everything. Darn internet can corrupt things faster than you can repair em

Good Luck

The reason I updated the Nescape, was MS recommended it..... :-)
Any way, I managed to move all my booksmarks over to IE...... OH... God what a mess they are now....... and I use to take such pride in being organized in that department..... I ended up with so many folders with the same name, but different booksmarks, I drovemyself to a massive head ache last night..... and got nothing done, either in the booksmarks, or modelling.... had to drown my sorrows with a Wendy's spicy chicken...... :-) :-)
Anyway, I found an old netscape 7.0 in one of my saved downloaded programs folders..... so got that up and running.
This bookmark sorting probably will drive me nuts..... so far I found sites I haven't been to in years, and there sure are a lot that don't exist anymore also...... :-) :-)
I even had to rename the main one to use..... so I could find it again........ "this one NitWit" ........ :-) :-)

Dave, I know your pain. I'm a computer idiot and, if it wasn't for the massive efforts of Delta 42, I'd have thrown my entire system right out of the front door several years ago. But, then I'd have to get Armorama by Pony Express. :-) :-) :-) :-)

Does Armorama communicate via snail mail? smoke signals? carrier pigeons?

Firefox and IE work for me - I use pretty much both 50%
But tabbed browsing in Firefox is great (next version of IE will have it too)
Netscape is dead - you had to do it Dave. Ignore the "ain't broke' "newer isn't better" comments for you they dont' apply.
Ever since AOL got it's hands on Netscape it was doomed.
Try Firefox , and spend 1/2 an hour getting to know it - it's a pretty good - as is the later offerings of IE.
Now zip that bookmark list up and email me it pronto :-)

Hi Dave,
Been there... I now use Firefox and have yet to have a problem,
knock on wood, but it seems to be pretty seamless, good luck.
Cheers

I use Mozilla Firefox. It's a dream to use when surfing the web.

I am the same Firefox is brilliant and the tabbed browsing is a great idea.
