Hi Chaps. The scene is now finished.
The first part can be seen HERE , with an explanation of parts used and assembley.
Neither the figures or the street lamp are fixed in place as this will be shipped to Steve "WeWillHold" Keegan when I get it packed.
Any comments, critic, etc. are welcome!

A simple but very effective setting. The paintwork on the lamp, fence and especially the drums are excellent and really enhance the whole vignette, plus they colors contrast well against the vegetation. Its a beauty.

Wow really great work on the guys, actually everything.
I might be picky but, the barrels must have gotten there later because they are bigger targets than that lamp post. Glass fragments below the lamp? See picky.
Really great job

Nice. The only thing I would add is maybe some bullet holes in the drums and fence - kinda strange that they only hit the street lamp!

Nice little scene.
One question - would rifle fire really make holes in a cast iron lamp post ??

hi Frank,
I love the finish of your figures and the base, weathered and shaded perfectly. I wish I could paint my figures like that. I agree that a few bullet holes in the drums would not be out of place, and spotted another little thing, next to the bazooka wielding GI, on the floor seems to be a German gasmask canister, which looks to be painted like the rest of the road bricks?
That rust effect on the drums is just superb.
Cheers
Henk

Great little scene. Your figure painting is fantastic.
Probably not. The bullets might penetrate if they were really close. Armour piercing ammo or a heavy machine gun might penetrate though.

Hi Guys. Thanks for your comments and the things you pointed out. Dont be afraid to be nit-picking. All those little points are valid. Its always great to get fresh eyes on a project. I will drill a few small holes in the barrells though.... the rest I´ll have to live with. If you check the third pic down, there is a bullet hole in the fence! The gas-mask canister is painted a different colour, but with the 4 lights I use to photograph it, and pastels on the ground, its gotten a little washed out in the images ... its OK, in reality.
Whether bullets would pierce a cast lamp post, I havent a clue.
As I said in the original thread, when Im looking at models I see little things that I like, I try to incorporate them, so all my thought is going into the detail rather than the whys or hows.
I guess its time to start building, using the blogg system, so all these points can be made "in progress" rather than when its finished. Thanks again.

Frank
Another in a long line of beautiful "Glackin Creation's". A lot of detail packed into a very compact space.
The drums are very authentic---(mind sharing the paint/weathering technique for those please)? The mixture and placement of the grass/weeds around the fence/cobbles is just right. So much for the eye to see in this scene!
Well done.

Frank,
an absolute masterpiece.
The only thing I noticed is that the overall color is very much "natural". In other words I think that a tiny bit of color can bring the diorama more to life...perhaps one or two colorful flowers to spice it up.
I love this little scene !! It's a true masterpiece.

Frank,
An exceptional work. Although it has been already stated, the painting and weathering are fantastic, really well done with the barrels and the fence.
Cheers

Nicely done Frank, great little scene. I like the feeling I get, it pulls me into the scene, I want to "see" what the are so intent on. I like the ground work, the blend of weeds and plants is great. Good eye...
