I am building this model at the moment too. I am wondering how to get rid of the knock-outs. I was going to run over them with a rubber sanding block. If you have a good solution I'd love to hear it.

I use a combination of scalpel blade and emery board. I have lots of fun standing at the makeup counter in Boots checking the grit on the emery boards to find the right grade

Ross,to shave off the knockouts,I used a sort of curved blade in my modeling knife.I have found a pointy # 11 is not stiff enough to do the scrapiong,but a curved edge one is.The marks themselves weren't too high near the middle of the long runs,but were fairly large at one end.
But the curved blade made short work of them.

Thanks for posting this Carl. I just got myself this kit, and the in-progess shots will be very helpfull. The comments about the construction will be helpful as well.

Looks great, and this Trumpeter KV-2 kit is really good. I never was a fan of this Russian tank until now
