I was wondering what german units were in the Falasie Pocket just before it was closed and smashed.

I would be Most interested in Panzer grenadier units, luftwafffe support units, wermacht tank units, etc.

Links to photos and or info would be appreciated.

I have a dio idea and want to make it as historicaly accurate as possible.

BTW, could a Kubelwagen tow a PAK 40 (75MM)?

Thanks in advance,
Craig

The Kubelwagen question was just theoretical.

If you had a Kubelwagen and an operational Pak 40 , could you tow it at least a couple of kilometers befor e it gave out?

Thanks for the response troopers!

I have a question,
3 FSD (Luftwaffe)

What does the FSD stand for ?

I think I will use the following units for the basis of the dio:

116 PD (Windhund Division)
9SS PD Hohenstaufen
I just need to decide on a luftwaffe unit for the luft. stragler

Thanks for the info.
It was great readiing, I intend to pick up the Osprey titla about falaise.

FSD = Fallschirmjager Division, i.e. paratroops, Luftwaffe.

THanks for the info, I was looking for non-fallschimjager units like luft field divisions, air squadron ground crews, flak crews. I was imagining someone who was well versed in the MG-34 but not via infantry training.

Ref the Kubelwagen/Pak40 combo, I can't really see this as the Pak40 was usually towed by a 3 ton rated half track, either armoured or unarmoured, or by a 3 ton truck, eg Opel Blitz. However I have seen a photo of one being towed by a 1.5 ton Steyr (like the Tamiya kit) if thats any help.
As for Luftwaffe ground troops other than Fallschirmjager, well I'm sure there must have been some Flak crews mixed up in the chaos.

Thanks for the info, I was figuring the kubelwagen would be a stretch. The horch or krupp protze might not be a bad Idea. But I think the dio will be "on foot" so to speak

I was thinking a flak unit might be mixed in, the flak units were , for the most part , luftwaffe correct?

Yep, the Luftwaffe were supposed to be responsible for Flak guns, except for the organic units in Heer & SS divisions. BTW for Luftwaffe Flak crews you will need figures wearing either the Fliegerbluse, a short jacket with buttons concealed by a "fly", & slash pockets in the short skirt only, or overalls, many Flak crews wore one-piece black overalls.

Thanks for the distinction, I am wanting to make it this figure and the others with it "Nit-picker friendly".
