I have posted up some pictures of my M16. The model represents the 2nd M16, Battery A, of the 467th AAA on the outskirts of Falaise. It landed on Omaha beach on 6 June at 0730 hours. This vehicle along with 3 others in Battery A was instrumental in suppressing Axis fire, and are credited with the destruction of a bunker overlooking the landing area. The 467th took part in securing St. Laurent, overlooking the beaches, and went on to see combat in St. Mer Eglise, Isigny, Carantan, St. Lo, Mortain, and Falaise.

I have to stop looking on those pictures. Once again I have destroyed my keyboard with drool.
To be serious: That is one amazing M16. I have only one question: The .45 is in a shoulder holster, but I can't see any straps on the holster. Is it done deliberatly?
Cheers

Hi Sticky
Well done. A very nice crisp model and a fine paintjob as well.
Good work, I like it.

Shuh, don't let everybody know that you CAN make a good model out of those old Tamiya kits.
If that gets out the manufacturers will NEVER give us any new US halftracks. :-)
That really is a very nice looking model. Good paint, good, sublte, wearthering, very good job on an old kit.

Thanks! The only aftermarket Items I used where the Eduard PE set, Archer dry transferes, and K59 Drive sprocket and Idler. The rest is scratch built. My main reference was Hunnicut's book on the halftrack.

The straps were removable.

I got my M21 at Lucky Models. http://www.luckymodel.com/scale.aspx?search=Y&q_brand=TAM&q_category=AR&q_scale=35&q_word=M21 I agree that it's the best of the bunch.

nice build I love the U.S. Half Tracks.. just a quick question...
wasn't the M16 called Multiple GunMotor Carriage.. (MGMC)
my references have the HMC as the designation of some of the Howitzer Motor Carriage variants

M21 the best of the bunch? Heck that means the M16 and M3A2 (we all know it isn't the right WW2 version)are all downhill from here!

Don't despair!
Apparently the M3 and M21 are mutually essential as kitbashing the two gives you a more correct version of both. And (as we see from Sticky's model) the M16 can be built into a very cool model.
