I've read a few mentions of how the site ranking system works. But nothing solid. Can somebody direct me where I can find this information.
Thanks Jay

As you post on the forums your chosen rank (US Officer in your case) will increase with the number of posts you make. SOme forums such as the Off topic forum does not count towards your total. if you wish to change your rank type you can do that in the "my account" section of the site. Hope that helps.

At the top, there is a button marked Forum FAQ.
This is a link from there explaining the ranking system:

Cool, thanks for the info. I've been wondering about that for awhile. Only 49 more to go for 1st LT.
Thanks Jay

Well here I am at 97, and I'll tell you I'm only 3 away for that silver bar. I've answered a few questions and asked a whole lot more. So with only 3 more posts, I'll be moving out of Amorama rookie status. so I hop nobody minds me getting that silver before I have to go home for today.

Jay,
Actually we kind of do. That is overt posting for rank and is seriously frowned on.
But on the bright-side when I deleted your 98 and 99 posts I saw your rank disappear. So that might explain why some members ranks disappear if they delete their own post and the process for the rank calculation is messed up.
You'll need to go into your account area and select your rank again (I think).
Thanks,
Jim
