Hi guys,
Well, thot I'd put up my 2 cents idea for a one figure dio here.
Storyline:
As he waited, crouched behind the window of the ruined house, the German soldier couldn't help thinking ........ 'Damn that sergeant! I told him it would be cold and creepy here, and I'd rather stick with the team, rather than wait here waiting for that damn Englander tank to arrive. The jerk just tosses me a pack of cigarettes and says 'Karl, here's one for the Fatherland. Enjoy yourself!' Idiot walks off, and it's now an hour since he's gone. Nothing's coming along this road, and I can't move around much either ! Oh well, I may as well light up a fag for heaven's sake......'
And he takes a fag out of the pack, and rummages around in his pockets... DAMN! ! No matches either! More savage recriminations follow, and the soldier curses himself, the sergeant, and the Fuhrer in due order.
Suddenly, a bright idea comes to his mind.....'Hey, don't I have a flamethrower handy! Let's light up that small piece of wood and use it as a match .. Hooray......!!!!!!!!!!'
And so, the soldier trains his flamethrower on the piece of wood nearby..............
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, folks, what do you think? Is it a workable idea?
I have an Academy 1/35 kit of 5 German infantry soldiers, one of whom is a flamethrower. BTW, I smoke myself, and have come across situations where I have been looking furtively for a match when I desperately needed it, and so this idea came to mind...
Let me see...
Cheers,
BP.

hi
could work, but you have to create a dio that speak for himself, people don't have time to read the story.
i think you only have a soldier and some wood that's burning, i love the concept, but it's hard to show wath you mean
sorry for the bad english
succes with the contest
with kind regards

Hi,
Funny story, but....
2 things:
1 A soldier on guard duty duringthe night (that's what I gather from your story) will NEVER smoke if is life is dear to him.
2 To use a flamethrower, he needs ..... matches! A flamthrower has to ignited somehow!
Good luck,

Gotta go with the other two replies, gonna be hard to portray what you have written. I dont think anybody with a flame thrower is gonna get themselves into a position like that with no fire source to use. But maybe you´ll pull it off, so good luck to ya! The main thing it is an original idea which I think is important for this contest.

Zapping up that flamethrower will light a sigarette, all right. But there's a reason why the first instruction in flamethrower training says "never use this indoors" ! #:-)

Well, well well! Looks like my idea has started a fire all right !
OK folks, I get the idea. I was under the impression that a flame thrower needed to just press a switch or button or something, and it would light up based on a cigarette lighter principle(sparks). My lack of understanding #:-) (dunce, dunce).
OK, will have to settle for another idea then. Thanks everyone for improving my knowledge .
One more thing : I feel the dangerous toy principle will apply equally to all the sniping ideas that have been put up earlier. Especially since there have been a spate of sniping attacks in the US recently. Even guns can kill !!
Cheers,
BP.
