I personally think it would be an interesting article. I've always wondered how people do it.

Sorry for my ignorance but what exactly do you mean when you say model building from the road? Are you building a model from several remote locations?

Sure - sounds like a good idea.

I'd look to see things like
storage
Cleanup
dealing with heat/cold
consideration for bumpy roads
small work space
what do you do with a completed kit
tools
work surface/area

Go for it.

Lord Kenworth

This would be an interesting article providing a unique slant on modeling,---- basically taking your modeling room/materials/etc, right along with you

I've always wondered how you airbrush, handle the paint fume ventilation issues and clean up your brushes etc while working inside your cab.

Please provide pics of your cab/storage/etc and especially of your stock of Rolling Rock stashed away in your on board cooler

Signed
Kenworth jr.

I think it's a brilliant idea. Half the fun ( ) of modelling working in adverse situations, it woud give a different perspective..

Chad, any truth in the rumors hat you're doing a 1/35th Leopold dio in the back of the wagon? :-) :-) ..Jim

Shazbot You're on to me :-) :-) A 53 foot long trailer would be a good place for that type of dio wouldn't it?

Chad, I knew the days of double clutching, went with my hair and teeth, but I never realized that the new tractors were automatic...... Learn something new everyday.

general zod,I knee knee,
is there unused space at the top ofthe trailer? you could make some shelves there to hold your finished work.
I can't wait to see the interior of the bunk area, just to see how you cram in and build,AND,how you stow it all away to drive... (++) (++)

Great idea. I always like seeing what other modeler's are doing. I know Sabot models when he travels, but in hotel rooms. I think everyone would really enjoy seeing what you do.

One of our club members does this.
Takes a few kits & supplies (plans ahead).
Has a shelf to work on.
Taps into the airbrake system for the airbrush.

Keeps him away from truck-stop women ....

What's good about an article like this, other than general interest, is how to learn to adapt when you can't/don't have everything available .... reinforces basic needs to a new modeler, for example.

Waiting to see it ...

BTW, when our guy brought his tractor to the club to show the setup, we criticized it(the tractor) for lack of pre- & post-shading, panel lines, weathering, etc -- us modelers are a tough audience ...
