Hi, Is there any sites out there that shows how these bigger 1/16 scale Tamiya R/C tanks are assembled? Showing pictures and such of the various stages the builders are going through during the building process? I don't seem to be able to find all that much on them, except for those dealers who sell them and some of the upgraded parts.

Thanks and take care, Sgirty

I am currently building the Tamiya Leopard 2 A6 and have made a sort of a "build report".

Hi, Yes, Erik, I've been following your posts on the build of your Leopard kit and this is the first I've ever seen of somebody actually showing some pictures of putting something like this together. The photos and yoru comments on it are just great! Thanks.

Take care, Larry

Hi Larry,

I've got a couple of articles coming out about the detailing and weathering aspects of the 1/16 stuff...

I have some pictures posted of my 1/16 Tamiya Tanks here:

Not really 'build up' pictures, but just some pics as I went along.

Love that Pershing...weathering and paint look fantastic.

I wish Tamiya would come out with static versions of their Pershing and Sherman...

Hello All,
I'm working on all the Tamiya versions with the exception of the Leopard...Too expensive for my blood. I'll start posting some pictures.
I have a question for the moderator, are we going to have some of the posts moved over from the RC Armor side of the house?

Pete Parks has (or had) some shots up of a Sherman build-up as he worked on it...

http://www.parksoffroad.com/rcstuff/rcstuffmain.htm

As for scale comparisons... I'm hoping to get my 1/35 and 1/16 parallel build-ups further in-progress this winter, so I have matching 'display' 1/35's and R/C 1/16's for the R/C demonstrations.

I also am leaving the Leo 2A6 out of my plans, at least until I can snag a static kit for basic R/C use.

As to static Shermans & Pershings, many of us side-step the issue by buying the MF versions, strip the R/C gear out and sell it to defray the higher cost. The MF gear was never sold separately like it was for the Tiger 1 kit, so it is an easy seller on eBay at a respectable price.

I just thought that it would make sense to keep it all in one place.
I live in Fredericksburg VA area and am looking at putting together a battle team based on the Tamiya system and am looking for any interested parties.

Tankleader:

You can go to http://www.rcacn.com/ & http://www.rctankhq.com/ and join them, and then see whom else is in the area.

There is another BattleDay being held at the AAF Tank Museum in Danville on the 18-20 of November, if you want more info, you'd best ask the RCACN guys.

Hope that helps your search,

WhiteWolf
