This is very exciting new for us modern guys...now, how about a few crewmen in the box to ride these mounts?

This is what AM is for. (sorry, not personal, I am just using you as an example of numerous entries) Personally, I am more than CONTENT that this is coming out as great as it is - I mean an aluminum barrel on an Abrams...WOW!!! That alone, wins me over. If I had ANY grievence (besides my apparent spelling ) it is that I shall have yet another uncompleted Abram. Vodnik thank you for all your hard work in helping this model become reality and please thank all of your colleagues on behalf of Armorama for us. THANK YOU

Finally, I'll bet there will be one or two AM companies that give these items a try if Dragon does not.

Bob

I must agree, but they'll probably come up with comprehensive sets to upgrade the existing and older dragon and tamiya kits to OIF versions..so don't get rid of those "cheap" kits for another couple of months yet

I'm sure most of us heard of DML's upcoming M1 kits in the past months..seeing and building their recent WWII releases with all the goodies of easy tracks, photoetch, metal gun barrels,etc..we could anticipate what their M1's will be like..
But actually getting a sneak peak of what we'll be getting!!!
Finally... affordable, authentic modern armor in plastic begins!

I have to admit I wish DML AIM provide three options in one box such as marine or army extensive bustle rack and smoke chargers. I still drool over this new kit, though. I get excited as much as a boy on a Xmas Day.

HeavyArty and Vodnik...thanks for your information.

Uhmm, I'm sitting here with the Tamiya Leo 2A6 in my lap at this moment, and it has the anti-slip on it. There are AFV's out there I'd like to see kits of, the 2A5/A6 isn't one of them, the Tamiya kit is one of the best modern MBT kits available.

Is it Here yet, Is it Here Yet? Looks amaxing from just looking at the box part. Right now I'm worrking on the M1 Pather II and its wonderful with all of its details the extraxa that comes with it, and the lower hull of the bad boy is just amazing to look and even build.

Pawel,
Any idea if it will still come with the partial interior? I know it isn't a complete interior, but it does give you a good starting point. I like it anyways.

I have pretty good idea about every part that will come in this kit. I co-designed many of them Anyway - no interior will be included other than gun breech parts.

I figured you knew, that is why I asked you. Why only the breech parts? Now you have to go and scratch the rest that they used to supply. The old Verlinden set is horribe and mostly fictional.

Because the entire turret is new. Old interior parts would simply not fit and would have to be redesigned. Also, the new parts were made as accurate as we were able to make them, while we all know that old interior parts were not all that great. In practice this means that to include even partial interior to the same quality as the rest of the new kit, we would have to design completely new parts. We sure could do that, but then the kit would probably not be released for another six months...

I'm sure that when the new kit is released and modelers see how the hull parts are designed, we will start to hear questions: why the powerpack is not included? Again - we really want this kit to be released this year, not in 2007. Maybe DML will release a version of the kit with interior and powerpack in the future. Or maybe not and we will leave it entirely to aftermarket companies (as far as I know at least one manufacturer will most likely offer interior set shortly after the kit release).

I bet it´s the company that starts with a V and ends with erlinden. The label will state it´s "designed to fit Dragon M1A1 AIM" :-)

That's not the one I was thinking about. I stopped buying any VP products some time ago and couldn't care less for what they are going to release

Very funny... Do you know something that I don't know? Have you possibly seen the hull part that has not even been made in plastic yet?...

Hello Pawel,
There was someone, I believe over at Missing Lynx site that complained about a warped hull in the 3-1 Tiger Early, I believe that this person was putting an interior into the hull that was designed for another kit, so he had an ax to grind with the DML kit. Most people didn't pay attention the his whining.

Yes, the Gentleman posted at M-L, here, and FSM, probably other places with his rant too. He recently (yesterday or today) posted at FSM that he got a new hull from a distributor and how Dragon is trying to pull the wool over the distributer's eyes too and how it is a big conspiracy. Blah, Blah, Blah!!!
