Note that the Tamiya instructions about the Flak 36 being for anti aircraft while the Flak 37 was for anti-tank is pure bunk. Both weapons were capable of multi role uses.

I have a question about the kit which I got from Grumpy
Old Man what the heck do you use to heat the end of the dang screwdriver to a degree were it will weld the 2 pieces to the sides of the automatic rammer but not melt the whole dang thing??? it is step # 10 in the instruction booklet

I use a candle. Don't melt the piece too much. You want to mushroom it, not flatten it.

thank you and I know this isn't the scratchbuilders forum but is there a way to re-create the A-23 piece and how long do you hold the screwdriver over the flame??

depends on the metal used for the screw driver, the diameter of hte screw driver etc...so there isnt a precise time, jsut make it hot enought to do what you need to do, test on old plastic sprues first.

Well there isn't a magic formula but about 10-20 seconds ought to get you sufficient heat to melt plastic. You should test heating your screwdriver on some of the plastic tree to get the feel.

Is that step 13? What is not working? You have to be more specific. It should just slide right in

I don't know what to say. Mine doesn't do that. MMaybe you need to finesse it more and use less force?

I don't want to sound cruel, but reading that from start to finish had me laughing. Luke....patience, patience, patience. I feel your pain. Been there done that too many times to count. Hope you get the rest of your gun together without any mishaps. "Q"

I think this place is anoher useful way to search, be nice!

Only if you are lazy and don't want to do your own research. It is not hard to research for some referances on your own instead of expecting someone here to do it for you.

Hi Luke,

Red 4 is right. Building a model is not a race but a chance to enjoy every process...even the most tedious or troublesome parts.

Alan and Grumpy set perfect examples. Even though they dont know you they are still take time and effort to help you out. Now that is how this hobby should be.

Enjoy the 88 and dont forget to post once you finished!
