I got a good start on my Tiger 1 tank today.
I put in a order to Backyard Armor for metal barrel and some other detail parts for the Tiger 1.

If there is anyone here that has built this kit and has any helpfull hints, Please do share them.

Hi, Kerry
I built the Tiger 1 a couple a years ago. Nice kit and a pretty straight forward build. The only problem I remember is the attachment of the road wheels. It is easy to break the small umbrako screws which locks the wheels into place, if you are not carefull.

Cheers
Erik

It wsa a fantastic read..I will see if I can find it for you.. I hope this one goes together well for you.. im starting to get the itch to do a large scale kit..

Erik is right about the allen set screws that hold the roadwheel axles in place. They are very easy to strip out. If you can afford it I would consider Aber's Super Set for this, it has literally hundreds of parts to add on. I am wokring on my PE skills as we speak with this kit. Best to get it if you have some experience with PE. The metal tow cables look terrific.

Ok here is what I got done today.
Tomorrow I will put on the side skirts and paint and add all the parts to the aft end of the tank, air boxes and ECT. Motors and gear boxes will also go in.
I will post what I get done tomorrow.

I got some more work done on the Tiger 1 tank.
I got in the photo etched Grille set. Still waiting for my order from BYA. That order was shipped out on the 3rd. I have a lot to do till that order gets to me. Radio is on the way to me from Tower Hobbies. Looks like next week a lot of stuff will be at the front door.

I started my DML 1/35th Hetzer tank last night. I started putting together the Friulmodel tracks, what a pain in the but. IS there a better way to put the tracks together? I am thinking of making some kind of building block for the tracks.

Well I got some more work done on the Tiger 1 tank.
I put in the Speaker unit, and the T-03 and the MF-01. Reciver will go in when the radio gets here.
I started the UPPER Deck on the Tiger.
I put the 1/35th Hetzer tank on hold till I get the Tiger 1 tank done. One thing at a time for me. My order should be here tomorrow from BYA and that will mean the turret can get started tomorrow hopefully.

Well I got some more work done to the Tiger 1. Glued on the photo-etched grills on engine deck, added more parts and did some painting. Radio is going to be here this Friday I hope. I hope my BYA order gets to me tomorrow; I would like to start the turret. I would have spent more time on the model but I wanted to get some time on the High Power Rifle range today and was able to. Now I have 3 rifles to clean and stow back in my gun safe.

Good news, my order from BYA got in today. Man do they have some cool stuff there. I used there top end Barrel and also got some other small things in for the Tiger 1 build. I am planning on ordering some stuff for the 1/16th scale RC Sherman I have done right now.

Starting to look a little like a Tank now.

Well after some delays I got the camo job done and now need to do the decals. Man this thing scares the hell of of out of our 2 cats. Now to do some dry brushing/ weathering.
This and the Sherman RC tank build has been fun.
