Here are some progress pics of my on going project, The NM 198 C2IS Vehicle. As I have mentioned before it is an upgraded M-557, with the latest technology in Comms and Computers. I use the old Tamiya M-557 as the base of the project and work from there. Since I have the real vehicle in the Motor pool references are no problem. So far I have scratch built all the major stowage boxes, generator housing, smoke dischargers and MG mount. A lot of work and detailing has still to be done before I can call it finished, but at least this pictures gives you an overwiew of how it will look. Do not bother about the gaps and fittings, since it has not been properly glued yet. There is lot of filling and sanding to do before I even can think of priming it. The MG is just connected with a piece of Blue Tack so it will be different as well. Here is a link to the start of this project.
Well, I do not consider my self a great scratch builder, so I leave it to you to judge my skills.
Erik
Edit: Sorry about the quality of the pics. Forgot to reset WB after using a Flash.

Nice work so far. Definitely keep us posted with your progress.
What are you using for scratch building the extra stowage? Is it styrene sheets?

The smoke dischargers is from a old Leopard kit. Sheet styrene was used for the base. Not quiet finished yet. Need some more details.

Erik,
That is REALLY nice. The one in your motor pool, is it used for Artillery Fire Direction or some other function. Looks like a "more so upgraded one" than what I had in the Artillery before I retired.
Keep us posted on this one. Truly unique!
Love it.
