Matrix,
That was quick ! You must have a whole atelier of modelers assisting you to get it done so quick - and so good ! That floor is impressive, the snow is done well (what is it ?)... Nice vignette !

Thanks for all the great comments. GeneralFailure, the snow is made with baking soda and the sealed with a heavy coat of dullcoat.
Porkchop, yes the figure is from DML. The kit they produced is a very well molded and easy to build with little to no filling of air bubbles that cause defults with other kits.

I think that your dio is fabulous.
The building and snow are great.
Only one thing, the reversable white uniform tended to get very dirty as opposed to the pure white one in you picture.

Nice build - I like it. It's very good. It poses some very stiff competition.

Hi matrix. Excellent dio and congrats at being the first(?) finished.
A few little points I would make, maybe could help.
There is very little rubble on the upper floor, yet the walls and roof are gone. A lot of this rubble would have fallen on the wooden floor. Underneath, on the ground floor that is sheltered by the same floor is covered with rubble ....???
Also the damaged brickwork is a little too undamaged. The bricks look almost as if they were sliced off! Maybe some smoke/explosion weathering to the walls would help as well.
Sorry to sound negative, Im not. The dio is first class, but these little points could be the difference when final judging takes place.
Good luck with your entry, this has already set the standard for the competition!

Hi Matrix,
I take it you are still busy with the figure, if not: REMOVE THE SEAMLINE FORM THE BINOCULARS!
Sorry, it had to get out!
The dio looks hot (or actually cold!)
I like it anyway.
Grtz

Very good looking dio, indeed. I really enjoyed looking at the evolution of it; I looked at the final pix first, then worked my way backwards through the album to better see how things come together.

Thanks for the tips. Oh man I thought I was done with the figure but you guys keep finding thange that I was going to do but kept forgeting to do. Thanks for pointing them out. The seam on the binoculars, I cant belive I forgot to remove that!
As for the rubble on the first level floor I saw a picture were some rubble rolled( if thats the right word) under the floor of the second level, that is why I put it there. I agree with not enough rubble on the second floor and I will fix that soon. I guess I was in too much of a hurry to finish. It didnt seem like I was but I must have been.
Thanks again for all the pointers.

Good job Matrix!
I double what the others said. PlasticBattle pointed out the lack of brick damage. Did you mean to "crop" the scene so that the bricks are meant to be sliced and not blown away? I think that if itīs meant to be that way then the chopped parts should be treated differently than the parts showing damage?
Iīve seen tanks cut open and the cut displayed with red colour. How to do it in dioramas? Slick surface painted matt black? I think itīs one of the most difficult thing to do in a dio, deciding how to crop it...
Matrix, your building is sweet so donīt get me wrong. Just wondering....
Toni
PS. The sling of the rifle is missing.

Nice work Matrix. The composition and simplicity are nicely balanced. As your discovering we have a bunch of detail minded folks here.
But a good example of constructive criticism I think. Keep up the excellent work (to all).
Cheers,
Jim

That 'clear cut syndrome" can be solved by glueing some extra debris to the cut edges of the building, and go over it all with a final weathering coating. When there's snow all over the place : why not on the walls' edges ? A layer of snow may solve the clear cut syndrome too.
