I haven't posted any in progress photos in a while , so I thought I would show one of my latest projects that I am working on. It is of the Eve of Destruction. This is the early example of the truck circa 1968/69. Guntruck (Jim Lewis) has built a fabulous version of the Eve as it is today on display at the Transportation Museum at Ft. Eustis.

Thanks Jim. Your build inspired me to get off my big fat %*!## and get going on this one.

Murphy!!! Good to see you back and getting active again. I hope you're feeling better now. Looking to see some of your builds again and hearing some more words of wisdom even if they are wacky at times :-) Thanks again.

Thanks Dave,
I AM feeling better. AND I am soon to be starting a new scratch project- An M1 turret on a modern armored railcar. It should be pretty cool.

Wacky as usual,
Cuhail

P.S. Did ya like the song?

Looks like another fine addition the your guntruck collection. You say it’s an early version, how much of a difference between them. Will the bed be lined with ammo cans as well.

The original and early version had the gun box the entire length of the cargo be. The rear wall was outside the tail gate. It was armed with two M 60's and a double 50 on the rear. the windshield armor had the ballistic windows in channels in the early version and the late version had the glass inserted into the front armor flush with the steel. They had the windshield wipers on the later version which proved to be a benefit. The floor of the gun box had sand bags instead of ammo cans. The bags were replaced after only a couple of months with the ammo cans because of the weight. Like the Maverick the truck was never replaced. The only two that I am aware of. The truck was the only one shipped back to the US and is now on display at the Ft. Eustis Transportation Museum.
