I'm finding myself with the Tamiya 1/25th scale Cent and want to convert it to the diesel powered version. Can someone suggest sources for the following:
1. Conversion kits
2. Books/plans, etc.
3. Sources for the development history of the vehicle and modifications.
Thanks!

Centurian,
There are no conv. kits in 1/25.
But Legend,AEF,ACC. Arm. make kits in 1/35 for 3 diff types of Cent. As for Books: Squad Sig. In action on the Cent. Military Briefs from Mouse House publishing or MBI book on the Cent. And another from Ospry in the Vanguard series. Hope this gets you started.

Mouse House armor does make conversions for the 1/25 centurion. You would have to scratch build the engine deck though. http://www.mheaust.com.au/MHE/Catalogue.htm

There's an old Tank Magazine that has scale drawings for the engine deck. I don't have access to it at the moment but in a week or two I should, if you're not in a hurry. I've thought of casting mine, but I'm not sure how it would turn out with the louvers, as my casting abilities are rudimentary at best.

Have a look for this book, even though it doesn't have 1/25th scale plans

I've read the Born in Battle book you were looking for many years ago (bought it for a friend) and I don't remember that it had much would be of help to you.

David,
I recently picked up that Born in Battle you refer to-issue no. 1, for a pretty penny on Ebay. You are correct. There's nothing in it that would help for the engine deck. When I get home I will find which Tank Magazine has the plans, and copy them.

18Bravo ... If you could find those drawings ... I'd certainly be interested in a copy.
