Does any one one know if Italeri makes a 1/35th scale M1A1 or M1A2

They sure do offer both, as mentioned above.

On how it fares with the other 1/35 M1 Abrams kits.

Hope this helps...though why pursue the Italeri kit when THIS is (hopefully) rolling out by December?

The Italeri kit is not as nice as the newer Tamiya one. If you can hold out for a couple months Dragon will be issuing a completely re-tooled, and what appears to be more accurate, one.
