Yes yes another day another photo update
I put some detailing in the interior of the ruined building

And I`m proud to introduce you all to "Greta". Greta is the attractive bulletmagnet in the distraction dio that`s why she is one of the maincharacters

I also added some more loose bricks in front of the house as well in the ruined building

the pics of this Photo update:

Look at her nice boot.... Isn`t she hot

"Love can kill". All the people that Greta attracted are no more.

This is the last view that many soldiers have seen

So that was it for today, tommorow I`ll bring you more pics of greta showing you the nicest design on attraction area
I give the inside building more detailing
And Hell maybe I just finish the whole dio tommorow.

Any questions?? just ask
Any comments?? still welcome

The complete work on this dio can be viewed in this 5 page MSN album

Dont rush it finished just yet. Some weathering and seal off the "open" ends of the foam board will help sooooo much. But there is always that little extra detail that adds that little bit extra to a dio. The rubble added so much to the overall effect, great work!

Hey FAUST

Thanks for the comments all you guys

here is an updated costs list

Sniper:
I talked this over with Keith because my Sniper ia completely scratchbuilt and I had no idea what to raise for it. So Keith and I agreed to raise 25ct. for every part that came from the scratchbox I thought this was fair.
-Modeling Clay from the DAS brand "Stolen" from my little sister : 0.00ct
-The Sniper gun came from the scrapbox : 0.25ct
-The right(shooting) hand from the scrapbox: 0.25ct
-the complete leftarm came from the scrapbox: 0.25ct
-The head with helmet out of the scrapbox: 0.25ct
-The boots from the scrapbox: 0.25
-The shovel and the cannister (I believe): 0.25ct
Total Scratchbuilt Sniper: $ 1.50

The building and sidewalk
-Foam used for the building and sidewalk I got it from my father out of the hospital: 0.00ct
-Windowframe was made out of a couple of icelolly sticks wich I had laying around: 0.00ct
-Miliputt wich I had laying around for a long time: Oh heck I raise 0.25ct for that then my building got any value within
-one tube of wallspackle/plaster/ (plamuur in dutch) "stolen" from my fathers workshed: 0:00ct
-The road with drainage sculpted out of the same foam where everything except the figure is sculpted out 0.00 ct.
-The rubble piles against the sides of the building are made out of foam and then covered with a layer of miliputt I`ll raise 0.25ct. for that
-balsawood for the floor: stolen from my fathers workshed: 0:00ct.
Total scratchbuilt houseruin: $0.50ct

Greta (my mannequin)
-sculpted out of the same foam as everything else 0.00ct
-German Helmet out of the scrapbox 0.25ct
-Tarp/cloth around her: Toiletpaper stolen from the toilet...... duh 0.00ct
total costs greta 0.25ct.

others
-Propaganda posters and the picture of Lenin printed on one piece of paper 0.03ct.
-Wallpaper printed on another piece of paper 0.03ct.
total others 0.06ct.

Overall cost: $2.31(this will be almost the same price in Euro`s I believe

Any Questions?? Just Ask!!!
you always get answer

FAUST, just an idea: How about creating some bullet marks around the window, dummy´s helmet and body? It could explain the scene in a discreet manner...Besides, it would be great practice of making bullet damage to different materials! This would also suggest that the sniper´s distraction worked. One bullet hole in the dummy =one bullet hole in the guy who shot the dummy!

Just a bullet hole or two, so it doesn´t look like it was encountered by Schwartzenegger and a Minigun...

Envar

It` not so good visible in the picures because Greta stands so close to the windowpost
but I thought of this point and the helmet has got three bulletholes in it
Greta itself is hit two times in the chest
on the inside of the building lays glass from the window that is shot in pieces by an "unlucky" russian soldier.

the idea to put bulletholes around the window was something where I haven`t thought of and that`s a good point to put in the diorama.
thanks for opening my eyes. :-)

Robert,
- didn't you mention the sniper would also be covered under a stack of rubble to be hidden from view ?
- Please note you can't afford to crawl around in rubble and dirt wearing a white uniform and remain all spic and span. That crispy white deserves some more dirt. That would be in the interest of the sniper too, since he'd become less visible in urban operations.
- That rubble was well done. I like the rubble that collected in the corner on top of the table. Looks so real !
- You may want to take some care about the woodwork : broken pieces are still "white" in the middle, window still and Lenin frame can be recognized as matches. They may need some milliput and a touch of paint ?
- I think Greta would look more convincing as a decoy if she got a head of some sort. (a football, ball of grass, flower pot, ... now it looks a bit "empty". I'd give Greta a military uniform, too, rather than ladies' garnment. A lady in negligé in a ruined building wearint a Fritz helmet is a strange target...

-- Great little dio you got there !

Sun tzu

Thanks for the comments

As the dio isn`t finished yet there are some things that look a little bit odd now
the whole dio will be covered in snow so the sniper will no longer be the "black spot on the white surface" further I can tell that the Sniper will be partially covered with a white blanket for camo and surrounded by rubble and debries
Greta is not wearing a neglige. The thing that hangs over the shoulders is also a white blanket but still unpainted.
the painting of Lenin is also not finished yet.
There is still a lot of work to do but that will also work out quite nice

Well Faust, the biggest advantage of having your dio almost complete is all the excellent points of view. Great comments from Envar and SunTzu should help a lot.
I havent even started mines yet!

Hey Faust,
Erm, it may sound stupid/logical (depends on how you look at it!) but the building in shot to pieces, how on earth could the window be shot by the Ivans shooting at Greta?
Otherwise: looks good

golikell

well I`m not putting in a complete window with some bulletholes in it
the will be some parts of glass in the corners of the window.
The rest of the window will be scattered between the debrie
