Hey I was interested if any one highscool or collage would be interested in doing a group build. Please give ideas and comments.
Thanks Branden

I would be interested, how about the Abrams? It's the only kit I have that I haven't started.

Yes, that's the general idea. Lately on ArmoramA, group builds have been the popular events. I think we've got a few going on now for an Italeri Sherman, Italeri Humvee, and a diorama build. There's two aircraft builds coming up; A Luftwaffe build involving the Bf109, Fw190 or Ju-88. (I think that one starts on Dec. 1st) There's a Corsiar build starting on January 1st. (using any 1/48th Corsair kit)
I'm involved in three of the builds (dio, Bf109, and Corsair), but I could go for a 'student' group build. :-)
Maybe we could build the main battle tank from our birthyear? (lending some variety to the entries) Or, an Abrams is fine with me... It would probably be better for the build to start January 10th or later, because of the holidays.

Actually the abrams doesnt sound like bad idea So if evrybody agrees on this. Mainly because most of us that ae still students grew up with the desert storm conflict so this would be great idea. January would be a good time for me. Please give your thoughts.

`Well Andrew (Oberst)doesn't do modern. Andrew is there any way to persuade you to do an Abrams, or are you dead set against it?

I guess there wouldn't happen to be a WW II tank called either the 'M1' or 'Abrams'....
What would've been the WW II equivalent to the Abrams?

For US main battle tank in WWII, M4 Sherman would be equivelant to the Abrams. As far as survivability and firepower, Tiger or T34/85 would be most comprable.

I think the abrams though is the best idea for everyone else.
Also i was thinking how about for vareity like yodaman said we could do either of course the abrams, the bradly, T-72s if your iraqi or somthing, and any other type of dessert stor vehicle.
Tell me what youll think cause ill be sure to ask for the abrams for christmas if were gonna do it (:-) (:-)

I may join you guys in this group build if you think that grad school students apply. I was in middle school during Desert Storm and remember it vividly. Why not have the group build just be a Desert Storm group build and to include Andrew (Oberst) he can build something from the first Desert Storm (i.e. the North Africa campaign). So what do you say? Am I legal for this group build as a grad student? If so I will build either a Trumpeter M1A1, Heller VAB 4X4, Tamiya T-55A, or DML BMP-2.

Auickivich T-55s were in desert storm. That would mean the new tamiya would be a viable canidate. But i agree desert storm should be the topic. And of course graduate students can be included any collage or highschool student thats the reason i thought desert storm would be good because our aga gruop all saw desert storm and grew up with it.

Hi Adam, I checked yesterday with that Grad School thing, they didn't accept me....
The First Desert Storm is a nice suggestion though...
