Hi all,

I'm looking for a JS2 in 1/72 scale....but is there a 1/72 JS2 available at all? I couldn't find one myself.

Also for the 1/72 experts among us. Which compagny makes good 1/72 figs?

Thanks,
Martin

PST make a 1/72 IS-2. Here's the link for it at Squadron: PST IS-2. You can probably order form a shop closer to your location.

yes, PST would be my suggestion aswell.

You'd probably have to go to Hobby Haven, at the Dorpsweg 28c in Rotterdam to get it ( they have the largest stash of PST kits to my knowledge ).

take the train to rotterdam central, then a metro to maashaven, and the tram to charlois (line 2), stop at dorpsweg. you should be able to see it from there if you turn around.

If you are not dead set on 1/72 scale, Fujimi does a pair of fairly new JS-2 tank kits in 1/76 scale. Here is a link to a review and sprue shot: http://www.smallscaleafv.com/ANG/Novinky6/76_IS-2&IS-2m.html

If you get the PST 1/72nd JS2 kit, you should likely find that it contains hulls and other parts to build either the JS1/85mm, the "early" JS2, and later JS2"M".

A PST "3 in 1" kit, and pretty good value for $5.00USD.

Go here for a build-up:

For good 1/72 figures go for milicast ones.
These are actually labelled to be 1/76, but I feel they fit perfectly to 1/72.
They are cast in resin and awesomely detailed.

For the JS2 IŽd also suggest the PSTS kit since the fujimi ones are 1/72...

I can't find a shop here which sells preiser or millicast figures.

Btw I found these reviews on Revell German and Russian soldiers:

http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.asp?manu=REV&code=02502

http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.asp?manu=REV&code=02510

They sound very positive and you have more figs for less money compared to Preiser or Milicast....(of course these have better figs but got to think about my money as well)

Oh and I found the IS2 tank Going to pick it up this week.

Other items planned for this project:

- Dragon Panther G late
- Italeri German Gun set
- Custom Diorama building
- Revell infantry (German and Soviet)
- Soviet aircraft, probably Zvevda MIG-3

That's good to know. I'll visit them this week (less than 10min from my school hehe)

Still I'm not sure whether I should go for the cheaper Revell figs which score high in reviews or the Presi

Hi boys

just yesterday I've seen in the shop the last new from Italeri, a JS-2 tank.

It's a new kit and is available in two different boxes, one with a standard kit, i mean that necessitate glue to be assembled, and the other is an easy assembly kit and contain two models.

As soon I buy it and I will be able to provide more information about it.

Bye

IIRC the Fujimi IS-2 is produced from the same plans as the 1/35 Dragon ones and shares the hull depth problems.

Check the Osprey Modelling book on the IS-2 for what can be done with the model. V impressive.
