Hi Ralph ...Nice work sir ...I remember building those tracks ....aarrgghh! You've done a really good job on this kit ...The only thing you might do more of is weathering . Maybe a dark wash on the back panel to show off the hatches a bit more ,but that's just me !
Congrats!

Hello Ralph,
Nice JSU! I think you did a quite nice job there. If you hadn't mentioned about the tracks I wouldn't have noticed. I think you should be proud of your work. Only thing I could add is a little bit of weathering on the upper hull around the hatches for some wear. But anyway, Great Job!!

Thanks guys! I usually prefer my models clean, or with very little weathering. For me, weathering hides most of the details of the kit. Also, sometimes when I weather it, I usually overdo it :-) So I keep myself safe by doing it minimally.

thebear, I had found a way to clean up the tracks easier. Instead of cleaning them one by one, I attached about 12 links and use a grit 400 sandpaper to sand them all together. Much easier than sanding them one by one. Better in groups than alone they say :-) :-) Still, it's a pain :-)

You mentioned the white stripe for the assault on Berlin. What was that all about? Were all tanks going into Berlin painted with white stripe?

Looks really good Ralph. Like the green colour chosen.
Will you add to this ...figures, base, etc?

Never thought this thread would come back again :-)

Shermiesrule, STAVKA43 is right. Those stripes are for air identification. Will all the raiding in Berlin, they might confuse one of their own as enemies without the stripe.

Plasticbattle, how I wish I can do that but... due to the wrong placement of tracks on one part of the tank, I guess I can't Unless someone could show me a pic of a ISU with one side of the tracks in reverse, then it's dio on the go. I have the Tamiya Assault Infantry and DML Tank Riders at hand.

It's barely visible in the pic (due to over-post shading of green :-) ). The stripe run across the turret, from the red star to the "1151"

Well done Ralph, i (043) just started to make this tank meself a few days ago. (see my forum JSU 152).
Reading the comments that where given on your forum
i can't believe that Richard had trouble with the tracks, because i finished them in 30 minutes each.
Another thing is that the Russians not only wear white stripes for indentification from air, but also they had large white stripes or even white front plates when they were going to (direction) BERLIN. My model which just finished today (pics coming a.s.a.p.) has a white front plate and looks pretty well.
Are you gonna place your tank in a dio?

Well... everyone has his shares of good and bad. I too had some troubles with the tracks, but hey I don't want to screw up a quite expensive and rare kit (here in my country) :-) Looking forward to your finished work sir Dio? I still have to think of it. Like I said, one of the tracks are in reverse! :-) :-)

I didn't say i had trouble doing them ...I just hate Dragons individual tracks with two punch marks to fill on each track and letting them set just enough to not break apart but still flexible enough to give them some sag...aaaarrggghh!! :-) :-)

Ralph, that really nice.
You should submit it for an ON DISPLAY, or maybe even write up a kit review, since you did an excellent job on it out of the box.

Whoa! That would be so nice of you Dave. Maybe a write-up review will do

By some reason I like this clumsy-looking tank. You've done a great job on this one. I get the impression, thats its a heavy clanking monster when it moves. Good job.

Thanks Simon! Also, it has the most powerful gun (I think). A whooping 152mm
