I can certainly vouch for the quality of the Skybow 1/48th Tiger. See my review here, courtesey of Winston and Wings'n'Treads. On a similar note, there's a review going up tomorrow of the Tamiya 1/35th Stug, also courtesey of Winston.

The Skybow Tiger is an awesome kit. The detail far outshines that of Tamiya. I think the fact that it is all plastic is a definate plus as well..Myself, when assemblng the Tamiya Tiger, i found it very difficult to get the side skirts to attach, even using CA glue. The Skybow kit i built on the other hand simply fell together. It is well worth the few dollars extra that it costs hands down!!!

wingsntreads, your link....is nto linking. :-) Again though, the skybow kit is a better kit than tamiya. Lets see what trumpeters kits will look like when released eh?
