I've been building a T-35 from ICM, when I picked it up I saw they also had a T-28 from the same company.

I can't speak to the ICM T-28 but I found their T-35 to be a decent kit, it requires some work though but nothing I found particularly bad. Mine had a little warpage, no locator pins and the plastic was very oily requiring more than normal cleaning. On the good side it has pretty nice individual link tracks, and a decent interior including a motor. The price was very reasonable too (IIRC $25-30).

The Alanger kit is a rebox of the ICM kit. AER also makes the kit in styrene. While I have built neither, I have them both (ICM and AER). Of the two, the ICM kit is leaps and bounds superior. I have read nothing but bad things about the AER kit and it looks fairly rough in the box. In fact, the only reason I got it was because it was dirt cheap and it has one advantage over the ICM/Alanger kit: accurate steel wheels for under the engine compartment. As far as the ICM kit goes, I have seen mostly good things about it and it looks nice in the box. The examples I've seen built (online) look great OOTB. If you can scratch the tarp rack for the left fender, you are pretty much good to go OOTB as the tracks look good in the box and, from what I can tell, built. Eduard makes a PE set for the AER kit but I'd imagine it would work with the ICM/Alanger kit as well.

Have to agree with Steve about the AER T-28, it's a real monster. A life-times worth of cleaning and sanding in a box in fact. The only advantage it has is the steel tyred wheels for the bogies under the engine compartment.

Andy,

Check eBay....that's where I got my T-35 and IT-28 along with a bunch of AM for the T-35 (Jordi barrels, Eduard PE, and Fruil indys). A lot cheaper, I believe, than at a store.

My T-35 didn't look too bad at all, but the IT-28 seemed like it was soaked in cosmoline. Two washes and there's still some there. Lot of injector marks to clean and seams, but once done, it'll really be neat.

Here is a T-28 from Squadron for $22.96 or 13.07 sterling. That's without shipping. That doesn't sound to bad to me. Not to sure if you have to pay VAT or whatever when it gets to your customs. I had a package get held up once by British customs saying I owed taxes on it until I told them I was US military stationed here and they let it go through.
