I've had a look at them in a shop. What's in the box is not bad at all, like most Mirage kits they need a bit of work to get the best out of them.

Beware....... Not everything you see on the box is included.... If the shop won't let you open the box to see what's actualy included, step away.

Sorry I can't be more specific, but it's three years ago that I had a peek.

Cheers

The base will be a flimsy Vac-U-Formed item.
And as Henk stated.... not everything pictured on the box, will be included. The vehicles will probably be there, but don't expect any figures that may appear on the box art to be inside.

thats the spirit mate !

besides, you can probably with a little practise make EXACTLY what you want and a lot better too !!

There's only one way to learn.......read Armorama and then try it yourself !

Yes, I would recommend some sort of back filling. I did one years ago, and used plaster of paris mixed in some white glue for some extra stickem. Worked out ok, but today I would probably use some epoxy, just mixing up some small batches and pouring it in and letting it cure. Building it up a little at a time.
If memory serves me, some sections were pulled extremely thin, and since they didn't exactly start with a thick plastic sheet to start with, it got thinner.... in the vacuforming :-) :-)
Just hold it up to the light and check for pin holes before you fill with anything......

thanks for the tips dave. got the model in today, and its a vac form as stated by you and others. no pin holes found, but will check again when more awak, as i checked it this morning when i got off work.

it will work for what i ahve planned as a vn dio, and i will be able to have a better idea for next attempt, as i think i will be building it from scratch.

thanks for all the tips and encouragement from all of you..........

If it is the general layout of the diorama base you want why not fill it with plaster wait for it to dry and pop out a copy. that way you can change it to what you want. The kits are great I think for people who want to start doing dios but haven't the confidence or skills at present.
