I cant wait for this new kit to be available in North America!, having posting this URL, it is just great to see that DML is going to be doing something different other than the more than typical German AFV kits. This new Sherman will be a very welcomed kit in the modelling community.

Zalder, it certainly looks good at the moment for Allied modellers. Here's a link to the News story about it, back on Nov 11 last year.

M4A1

For those interested there is a first look review going up this week.

awsome, its a earlier URL u sent me, but oh my the thought of it makes me smile! . there is the Old Italeri M4A1 76 from the 70s?. for the longest time that was pretty much the only plastic injection kit on the market. it wasnt till the mid 90s/late 90s and early 2000-2006 with resin upgrades for that one kit. However with the more recent DML releases such as the new Tiger's and Panzer IV's, they are at the top of the food chain in the modeling world right now... i am also looking forward to the new DML M3 Halftrack

I think the new M3 will come out as soon as it's been reliably proven that Hell has frozen over.

I'm eagerly waiting your review Jim or Vinnie. As to the kit this is one I'm not going to pass up. I've learned my lesson with DML.. I'll buy it as soon as it's avaiable and not risk it not being available when I want it.

well it is about time! i am realy looking forward to get my hands on the kit and i definetly hope, that it will not be the last allied armor soon to be released!

But i do have one opinon about DML's way of producing and making new kits, always when the there is a new axis armor kit coming, it will be loaded with extra goodies and a 3 in 1 kit! what about some allied 3 in 1 kits! please dont hate me axis builders! i do also love axis armor!

Jim is your review going to be an in-box or are you going to build it?

Alan, initially, it will be an in-box and then a full-build due yo time constraints....Jim

Just one 'teaser' from it - for the first time, DML has included Polish decals amongst the options.....

Jim, were the Polish Shermans similar to the British Shermans. The extended radio (?) box on the turret bustle and things like that? I am no expert so I'm not sure if I have any idea what I'm talking about.

I'm not Jim but Polish Shermans were fitted out like British ones as they were drawn from British stocks. The extended radio box you refer to was on Fireflies only. Otherwise, many Commonwealth and Polish Shermans did carry stowage boxes of several different patterns on the turret bustle.

The Polish markings in the DML M4A1 belong to Polish 2nd Armored Regiment. In the book, Polish Shermans Vol.2 (which Jim Rae reviewed in November 05: Polish Shermans V. 2) the pictures of the 2nd Polish Armored Regiments M4A1(76) do not show them mounting stowage boxes on the turret bustle. However, those from some of the other Polish armored units do have stowage boxes on the turret bustle.

I have recently started to model in 1/35 scale and have been surprised at the amount of kits on offer from various manufacturers.

I do feel that looking through what is on offer that there seems to be a shortfall of plastic kits on Allied subjects.

As well as this Sherman, new toolings on British made tanks would be very welcome.

Or the final proof - the Maple Leafs win the Stanley Cup, the NDP form a majority government, gas sells for $0.45 per gallon.

Great news for allied modelers but its not necesarely the kit i was hopeing for. Not that i dont like shermans, but i've seen better looking versions(imho) maybe something different than the typical sherman or tiger or pzIV.
