A link to the work of Chuck Doan was posted on IPMS Stockholm tonight by Stefan Svensson, and it just has to be shared. If ever "WOW" was appropriate .. it is now. Its not often I get totally bowled over, but this is the best Ive seen in some time.
Click on this link to see more of Chuck´s work.

what can I say other than WOW!!:)

truly amazing, the best I've ever seen. It's almost impossible to tell whether those elements (like the amazing windows) are real or in scale.

Jaw dropping.

This guy nailed the feeling of dust perfectly, as well as worn paint. And rust. And broken window panes.

Scott, jeez...... I figured the broom in the first pic was my first hint....didn't see the "no threads on bolt!" Ahhh, THAT's why you are the Managing Editor, Dioramas! hehhehe To quote again, "(all said with tounge in cheek asa joke)", ditto!

The worn paint, nails, and "rot" on the window picture are flippin' crazy. Unbelievable!!

Model railroaders RULE!

Last summer at the National Model Railroader Association nation convention, I attended a clinic on scratchbuilding, featuring how to distress wood and paint, as illustrated on this masterpiece. All I can say is this guy could teach the clinic, and I need to attend many many many more!

Another nice job: SCRATCHBUILD SHOWCASE

Hey,

What's the big deal? All he did was take the real thing and shrink it!
