hi there everywhere,
i've got planes to build a dio of a sherman m4 with a hedgrow cutter.
not in rest but in action.
just when he hit the hedgerow and swing the sand and roots around, see it in your head #:-) the driver spit the dirt out of his face#:-)
i've got a home-made cutter on paper, not yet real, this saturday i gona make it.
im looking for pics of thise scene or something like it.
any help is welcom.

I think I saw a pic of more or less this scene in the CONCORD book about WWII shermans N°2. But I don't think much of it could be seen...

Try searching on this website - www.britishpathe.com
It's the official archive of the Pathe newsreels, you may well find footage if you do a search 'Bocage' or 'Normandy' or 'Sherman' etc

the link you gave me is very helpfull.
they talk about differant tactis for attack the hedgerow.
maybe i gona made a dio with running away germans or a german tankbuster waiting the sherman come over the top and
. but that is maybe.
also i've go a idea for the name of the dio but that is my little secret
but first i've to collect the materials and a bit more info about it.
what should i use for the hedgrow , i've got something but i think it is to big for the scale (1/35).

I seem to remember a sherman diorama depicting just such a subject when I was a kid. I think it was a Sheppe Paine one. It included a Monogram sherman breaking through with some infantry and a knocked out German MG position. I think one of the figures wa a aguy with a thomson on the left. Always wanted to build a similar one .Don't forget to send opics when your done Sherman sam .

Hmmm...not quite sure why you can't see the site. It works fine for me. Maybe the site was just temporarily down for maintenance.

Do a google search for Combined Arms Research Library by typing the same in the search field,
It should be the first option. (it's URL starts with cgsg)
If you get there, click on Library Catalog it's in the upper right corner.
Click "Carl's Catalog via iPAC".
If you get there, type "busting the bocage" in the search field.
The next page will take you to the link of the site I listed above.
If this does not work I can try to email the site to you.

Very true. Everything clamped down after Sept. 11. There are firewalls on top of firewalls. In the not-to-distant future, they may limit access only to those of us using .mil computers or accessing through the Army portal (AKO accounts). All it will take is some knucklehead launching a cyberattack and they'll close down all public access. I think it's only a matter of time.
