I was hoping some of you could share your techniques on making small detailed wear such as scratches and fingerprints on vehicles. I really like how these little details stand out on great builds.

Cheers

For scratches, I use testors liquid cement, dab some on my basecoat, let it dry, then after I put the final coat of paint on, I take the dried paint off and it looks like pretty realistic paint chippings.

As for fingerprints, thats something I've never tried, it would be a very very small detail, but I suppose if you're willing to give it a shot, why not?! Something I should try are boot prints on the top of AFVs.

You can also make scratches and rubs with a pencil. Take a #2 pencil and draw or drag it along the vehicle. Rubbing it on edges will also give a worn to metal effect. You can see the effect well on my Bradley.

I think here are some great articles for you. Lots of rational explanation on what and how to replicate.
