Just an FYI if anyone in the bay area is going to Sunday's IPMS Kickoff Classic in Silicon Valley/San Jose area. The event is listed in the Events calendar if you need more info.
I will be there photographing entries for the site and connecting with area modelers. I am actually riding up with Rick and Dominic from Fresno IPMS. Thanks for the ride Rick!
Just went to their local meeting here in Fresno and found it to be very informative and fun. The first hour was devoted to tutorials on good building foundations/techniques and the second was a round robin of the room and everyone's current projects.
While I am talking about myself I should share that my wife has suffered a terrible loss this week (Wednesday night) when her father passed away in a car accident. Sadly the cause of the accident and why it happened are still a mystery to us and that is causing additional stress. It's been a pretty sad year for us in general (Since April 05) so we are really looking for an improvement soon. On a brighter note my surgery to remove my gallbladder went well and I am feeling a lot better lately.
My thanks to everyone who has sent warm wishes and prayers.
Thanks much,
Jim

Really sorry to hear about your wife's father. It is very difficult to deal with the loss of one's parent (s)
I hope the knowlege that all of the folks who frequent this site are sharing in her loss and thinking of the both of you is of some comfort to her.
My best to you both,
Charles

Jim:
I am so sorry to learn of the misfortune that has be-
fallen you, your wife, and families. My prayers are with
you all in the passing of your wife's father. And I wasn't
aware of your gall bladder surgery but am glad that
you're progressing well. Hopefully, 2006 will be a
complete turn around for all of you.
Wishing you a safe trip and will look forward to seeing
the great pictures.
