Like AndyD said - you'll receive payment - just not the kind you can 'cash in' for a new kit....

Sometimes I've written contents for the site, I never thought to ask for any kind of compensation but the comments of the Armorama's fellas that in my view pay much more than money. Sites like Armorama, are extremely costly to keep alive (servers, bandwidth, etc.) and quite likely the money coming in from sponsorships and User's subscriptions are never enough to pay the bills at the end of the month.
On top of that the spirit of this kind of sites is to build up a real community, where Users will to contribute their own contentets to help the site's growth...
Ciao

As already been mentioned, you dont get paid in monetary sense, just pure hard satisfaction that you had contributed to the community in one way.
The last 2 articles i submitted were mainly to promote the LHS in my area so if anyone from this community ever came to Auckland, they have a ready resource and hopefully with full pockets.
Do it for the love mate.

Don't get me wrong I love money as much as the next guy but over here at Armorama the receiving comes from the giving. Writing articles for me is putting back in a very small way all the enormous knowledge I got for free. Its a unique concept but then again Armorama is a unique community. That you can't equate to money.

I believe the going rate for articles is $0.00. There is an extra $0.00 if you submit color pics.

To be honest, you eventually do get some sort of compensation as a reward for doing reviews. When we started the site, we bought our own kits and reviewed it ourselves.
As the site grew, we got noticed by manufacturers and distributors. They started providing the site administrators with samples for review. The samples have become sort of an incentive for folks to do reviews.
Of course, the folks getting the review samples are ones who previously spent hundreds of dollars on kits they have purchased and reviewed for the site out of their own pockets. Eight of the 25 review items I have done for the site were review samples.
Personally, I find some of the flippant remarks here not to be the type to inspire members to want to submit articles or reviews.

Not a flame war... more a light toasting.
Reichsfox has asked a perfectly good question. And to be honest it may not be that far off when we do pay a small amount for high-quality feature submissions. But definately not right now (or up till now anyways).
Cheers,
Jim
