finished at last. Ford F60L CMP (Canadian Military Pattern) G/S (Aust)

I used the Tamiya Quad kit axles, springs and motor and scratchbuilt the rest to make it as accurate as possible.

This was a labour of Love for me as I owned a real one of these in New Zealand 20 odd years ago.

Comments welcomed.

lots more pictures of the entire build are here... http://photos.kitmaker.net/showgallery.php/cat/14884

cheers

In my gallery there are a number of finished shots of the 'No kit Chev' as well as this one in two different albums plus some other albums as well with finished photos in them.

If you like, choose some and make them an on display feature Dave. I don't mind at all.

Thanks for the comments guys I really appreciate them.

Cheers

It's almost enough to make me put the oil paints and figures to one side and reach for the plastic card again!

Another nice truck mate.

Nice work!

The canvas cover was made from Cadbury Chocolate easter egg foil wrapping. As it is real thin care must be taken when handeling it and the model after it has been applied with CA glue.

This was cut to size and first primed with Humbrol #1 primer and then with Humbrol Khaki before adding to the rear tilt frame.

I made the mistake when I first did it of just rolling the foil to make the rolled up sides but with handling it flattened out. So I carefully cut them away and made some new ones with a small diameter plastic rod 2mm shorter then the length of the foil and rolled the foil around this. I then added these back to the top and front foil.

I used oils for the weathering changing to the burnt Umber because the dark stone color I had mixed up did not look right. In fact it looked real bad. I also finished off with a redbrown acrylic wash after the matt coat had been applied so it did not have a smooth surface to run along so tended to stay pooled. I used the same weathering on my Ford WOA2A (English) Station Wagon but it did not really have the same effect as on this one.

Once again thanks for the comments guys I appreciate them.

Cheers
Cliff
