That T-28 would be a dog if you through an inside track. You would have to unbolt the outside track section to get to the inside. If you ever get a chance to get to Ft. Knox to the Patton museum to see this beast it is worth the trip. It was designed to breech the Seigfried line. But it was found out that it wasn't needed and no bridges or road at the time could support it.

I couldn't imagine the T-28 taking any turns or going over any terrain that would cause a thrown track. That being said, everyone knows Murphy rode a tank. I wonder what it would have looked like if they tried the torsion bar suspension like the T-26 series instead of the Easy 8 suspension system.

i am going to make a Diorama featuring the Waffen-SS and Fallschirmjagers in winter gear fighting in the streets of London. My particular Wehrmacht is winning the war. in '46, Germany stayed neutral in the war between US and Japan, North Africa and the Middle East were conquered and USSR subdued. i change a lot of the original perameters about the war in Europe, my Hitler was a naval hero and understood strategic thinking. Built the Wehrmacht for a longer war, had a virilent hatred of the British not the Jews and knew to keep the Americans isolated.

i know this sounds fantastic, but the real WWll gets a little boring after a while. i wanted Germany to win this one.

good idea, sounds like a conv. for the panzer iv or even a king tiger. lets post some plans for the gantry, i think something the folds down to the hull would be best. washington dc watch out. they could shoot you now. stug

Once I get around to it, I think I shall try a Dio with the Pz IV Hover with a couple of Waffen-SS carries MP5 and G3.....

I can't wait to see this Maus.

I had a productive day yesterday. I finished air brushing a Pz IV antiair gun and base painting an 88mm anti tank gun. Oh well more work to do. Once I whittle my model work load down a bit I might do that Maus :-)

What's neat about the T28 at the Patton Museum is how they found it. Two T28's were built and everyone thought they were scrapped at the end of WW2. Apparently one was parked in a remote area of a base down south and forgotten. When they were clearing an area, they found the T28 in the middle of 40 years of brush and scrub growth.

I think you might need to reconfigure the turret front armor plate as they did on the king tiger. The curved armor plate would be time consuming and costly to produce. I'm working on a "production" version but it's on the back burner for now. I also added a commanders copula from a panther. The IR sounds like a good idea also. Since it's driven by a diesel/electric system you could also mount the IR light in some type of armored housing also.

well guys here we go again, the Maus Nacht Jager is almost complete. i'll be posting it in the reveiw board in a few days. It has ir gear and a searchlight mounted to the turret. got love stuff that didn't exist.....stug
