Also a good resource is the Panzer Colors II book published by Squadron/Signal. It is all abut markings of the German Army from 1939 to 1945.

You can find a lot of information about WW2 German Tanks Tactical Markings, Colours, Camouflages and Divisional Signs in "Panzer Colors" published un three volumes by Squadron / Signal Publications (Bruce Cleever).
If modelling German Armor is of your interest this publication is a great help.

If you buy a set of Archer Dry Transfer German WWII tactical markings, it has an insert that shows what each one is.

On a side note, German tactical markings were used in certain colors in certain operational areas. Be sure to do your homework before applying them.
