i canb't believe there are haters and fanboys in the modelling world!

i'm used to that on my video game forum, but at armorama? :-)

lovely looking kit, essential purchase to go with all those dragon premium kits.

nice one tamiya.

I would say that the definition of "haters and fanboys", while generally accurate, doesn't really cover the model world...more like followers and the disenchanted.

If Tamiya decided to just become competative again in the 1/35 market, many of us who are sullen with them will probably once again sing their praises. I for one do not want Tamiya to become a DML clone...I would rather see them concentrate on their hallmark...great engineering, and get back into doing kits others have not. Not only does this increase the number of good kits on the market, but it also keeps the 2 current big innovators of armor, DML and Trumpeter, competing outside China's borders as well. I do not think any of them are threatened by Italeri, Skif, or Revell.

While not as much as we Char B fans would have liked to have read about, but what few English-xlated readings I have been able to find, the Char acquited itself quite well against the Germans, despite the disadvantage of the flaky gun and crew layout - and mismanagement of the leadership.

May be a stretch to analogize it's impact to the earliest encounters by the Germans of the KV-1 in the east, but close.

Certainly the Germans would have prefered to have run into H and R35s instead.

I just counted the parts (yes I have time for this today). It´s 220 parts plus track links. I expect the sprue with the wheels and the sprocket to be included twice.

I bet, a Dragon kit would include at least 400 parts and a minimum amount of 50PE parts plus turned barrels and a turned brass cigarette with brand etching (Gauloises) for the tanker figure.... :-) :-)

Bad-taste anti-French remarks not withstanding, i'm delighted to see this (at last) confirmed.

I'm now able to speak about what was happening last summer in Saumur. A team from Tamiya was examining every inch of the museum's Char Bs. I was told about this back in february, but was asked to be discreet about it... Personally, I don't care who has done the Char B - the fact that it's getting released (and will be properly done) has pleased me immensely. It's ridiculous that we have waited so long for this vehicle in 1/35th scale.

I'm normally, the first with scathing remarks about Tamiya, in this case, well done, and (hopefully) welcome back!..Jim

Well put Jim! I'm just happy to be around right now with all of the great kits that are being put out. I know it's been said before but I'm going to say it again; We are living in good times!!

Cheers,
Mike

Hello guys,
I am not a WW2 stuff fan but I posted some times ago a walkaround of the B1Bis here at Big A.
Finally it appears that it could be of some use for you
