Gidday lads.
Thought I would share my 1st ever attempt at full blown PE. I finally worked up the courage to give it ago so My guinea pig was thr trumpeter 1/35 Lav.
I bought the voyager set from hobbyeasy (exellent delivery speed to oz) and wacked her on.
Fiddly stuff it is and I'm gonna have to invest in a good magnifying glass otherwise me old eyes will be shot by the time I'm 40.
Anyway I enjoyed it and bought some more (AS 90, M106 Mortar).
Anway comments most welcome and I'll post completed pics later.

It just goes to show that there is life in the old dog yet.
Seriously a really great job for your first attempt and it really is a feeling of satisfaction when you can stand back and see a job well done.
Onwards and upwards share some more once the paint goes on.

looks very good indeed! Certainly better than my first etch attempts(glues and etch all over the place ) Be sure to keep us posted on this most excellent of models. Are you going to give it a crew or anything, warriors have some nice resin crew figures for this.

Looks very good, Dan
I resently started to use PE myself, and I have to say I enjoy it. I invested in an Etch Mate after a copple of attempts and now PE is just fun.

John- Satisfaction is why I love this hobby. Nothin beter than sitiing at my workbench for 1-2-3-4.......hrs and seeing an end result. (even for a first attempt at PE)
Rob- There is some glue all over the place but i've managed to clean most of it up. ( i'll try to get better close ups later. As for figs i hav'nt decided yet, have to get past the primer yet to see what nooks and crannys need fillen.
Erik- I need an etchmate. geez it's tough with flat nose pliers. But it has been fun with the odd^%$^&*(() echoing through the house. The straps were the worst. Small fiddly stuff.
I'll keep posting as things progress. Thanks for the comments.

Andy I used thin gauge brass wire (can't think of the gauge sorry) I cut it 2 3/4 in (I think that was the correct length......Gino am I wrong.)
Quick question for anyone. Are the tyres on this veh correct. To me they look to tall compared to ref pics...mmmm

Looks nice to me! Lets see more!
BTW, you are gonna need the extra eyes when you turn 40 no matter what. I just turned 43 and have needed magnifiers for small stuff for the last year and a half!

That looks great Dan!
Having just started scratchbuilding I'm into anything at the moment.
Please don't tempt me anymore... Please! Please... Oh, go on then, I might just try it sometime.

I have a Hold and Fold and it's very useful. However, I also find that a couple of sets of non-serrated locking hemostats are indispensible. Some hobby shops have these. If not, ask a medical friend to "borrow" a set.
Your work looks fine -- you do get into a rhythm after awhile. If it interests you, I spent about a week's modelling sessions working on a Lion Roar PE set for some flak gun bogies:

Thanks for the comments so far.
Yes I will post pics of the various painting and weathering stages, hopefully some close ups.
Not today though it's ANZAC day here in Australia and time to have a few beers for fallen comrades.
PS Roy graet job on the Flak boggies. I hope to reach the dizzy height you have some day.
