I have 20 kits in the to do shelf. I keep it at this. If I buy one, I must build one or sell one. I think its sort of pointless buying kits and storing them for years. There are coming better kits all the time and if I want something bad enough in the future, IŽll just have to fork out for it. I have also quite a few AM parts for these kits and also dio parts. Then theres figures ... I have about 80 sets of figures, mostly dragon, plus resin. Also have about 10 sets of 120mm figures.

I have 11 built models, and 203 unbuilt ones, all 1/35 American and German WW2 armor and softskin vehicles. My goal is to make sure I have one of every vehicle and version they used in WW2, and make sure I have plenty to do when I retire in 10 years. I have been working on a few lately, and as detailed as the new ones are, I'm sure I can work away at them now, and still have plenty left for retirement.....of course then there are the British and Russian vehicles...

Armor models? Well - checking my Excel data file, I show I have 215 - of which I've built about 31 so far. Currently working on a Dragon BOB Sherman M4A3 76mm VVSS.

All told? I'd rather not say.....

I'll let the photo's give you an idea (have posted them here before)....

My sanity is packaged in there somewhere....

OMG!! - you've got more stock than my local model shop!

I've probably done around 120, but I never really finish them properly.

Note to self - dont buy anymore until you finish whats you've already started

I have 94 unbuilt ones (not including figure sets of which I have somewhere in the vicinity of 25 -30 of those....I use different figures so some are unopened and some have already built little people). Just counting the items (not figres) I have around 175 built kits...throw in another 100 or so little people. Just think, if I had had a full time job over the past 3 years how bad it would be, all those wonderful resin 350 scale ships, and big train items like the leopold, Br52 and 4 or 5 of those railcars. Heck, I probably wuld have een bought a unch of aircraft like the Trumpeter 48th scale Vigilanti, and don't even get me started on those wonderful wooden sailing ship models out there. Anyone up for LOTTO tickets? :-) :-)

Wow some of the collections im seeing here is shocking. Those photos that some of you posted of your shelves look like the ones in my LHS!

Only got 7 unbuilt kits and 5 completed kits. Thrown away those i built as a kid so those dont really count.

Hmmm just did a count of finished models on the shelf.
51 AFVs which includes 8 1/72nd models and one 1/16th(T-34/76 1943).
45 Aircraft plus two on display at the local model shop.

As for the unbuilt stash around 350 ,about 1/2 of that Armour the rest Aircraft and a few ships.

I really hope my wife never ever reads Armorama

I just checked the Excel list and I've just under 100, with another 34 on the wish list. The wish list is so I can complete getting one of every American and Britisn vehicle kit that I want. I keep saying once I complete that collection I won't be getting any more except for news kits that fill out any holes.

Most of what I've gotten I've gotten on sales of one kind of another. I won't pass up any really good deals. I keep telling myself I'm saving up kits for my retirement, and I do really plan on building each and every kit in the stash.

got about 300+- armor kits. Aircraft kits are in boxes downstairs I think I may have an equal amount.
I really think 'Plasticbattle' Frank has the right idea.
I have kits I know I will never build because I have replaced them with the newer, bigger and better versions! Time to start weeding through this mess and selling, giving and tossing the bulk of this pile.
Cheers,
Charles

I'm think I have somewhere between 250-350. I dont think anymore than that. Lately, I have been on a model building tear. Was doing pretty good weeding down my collection, and than,,,,,,,tamiyacon came along and threw everything out the window. Oh well, more fun for me eh?

Last time I moved (12 years ago) my unbuilt stash was a layer of boxes the size of the front face of the box of the 18' truck we were using to move. My collection of books was two layers that size.

I have bought a LOT of stuff since then...

I'm looking at about 400 unbuilt kits plus an unknown number of accessories and detail sets. But it's the research material that's gonna kill me when I move next. My library covers about 60-65' of running wall 6+' high. All packed solid with armour or aircraft books. It was 100+ boxes last time. This time it'll be twice that or more. Models I may sell, but I never get rid of books. Never.

Jacques,
The nice thing about your collection is that if hard times ever befall you can open a full fledged hobby store stocked better than most I've seen!!

That's a great stash!
