Do a Google search on "Kolobanov KV-1" and you will have tons of reference material, photos included

The photo of Kolobanov on this page seems to show a KV-1E, at least I think I can see a bolt-head. Of course this may not be the same tank.
RKKA Aces
The 864 may be the last three figures of the tank's production number used as an administrative reference, and not a tac number painted on the turret. Early KV-1s were usually quite plain.

For anyone wanting to build a diorama, 8th Panzer Division (who appear to have been the victims) were largely equipped with the Panzer 38(t) and also the Dragon 3in1 Panzer IV Ausf has 8 PD markings.
Have Googled quite a few sites and have seen the same descriptions of Kolobanov's action over and over again.....

You could also use babel fish translator from Altavista to translate whole web sites or text.
here is the link:
http://babelfish.altavista.com
To translate web sites you just need to paste the URL. Although the translation is very crude you can still understand it and find the info you are looking for.
