Jeff

Sadly I had to throw in the towel on my GMC water tanker I painted it gloss red because it was gonna be an Army fire truck I never could find the correct red light for it

So I thought I'd paint it OD Well I made the mistake of spraying flat paint on top of gloss paint It didn't go on too well

I knew then that I'd have to strip the paint off and start again and I knew I wouldn't be able to finish it in time

Hello all,

Sorry to say I will not finish for this campaign. My mother is going in for surgery on Friday at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN so not only have I been distracted, I will be out of town.

However, I will post when I finish my build, just for completness' sake.

Sorry.

I need a little more time please, I'm all base coated, it needs a little fading and weathering. Thanks!!!

I'm so happy! I haven't been this far along on a vehicle since 1990! Hey, and I had fun doing it too! I may get to the 100 or so models still in boxes after all!

Arrrg!!! I don't have the clear glass windshield for my kit! Its not in the box or anywhere else for that matter. Ma'an, I hate when that happens.

"......If you need an extention for up to 2 weeks let me know ASAP....."

Yes, in fact, I would GREATLY appreciate a two week accomodation Oh supreme one! I originally had planned to sit out this Campaign because of time constraints {busy season}, but somehow was able to focus my attention {bless that 'curiousity' thing} on a WWI-based build.
So, hopefully our good ramrod Jeff can find it in his heart to grant me a two-week 'Hall Pass'

With fingers crossed then, I present some info on my entry.....

I have taken the old Airfix Duo-kit of the Dennis Fire Engine & Omnibus and decided to kit-bash up a World War I 'Bill' Bus out of the Omnibus portion of the kit.
Out of the box the Omnibus is supposed to look like this:

A nice, shiny civilian transport bus operating in central London.

My plan is to convert this base kit into a World War I 'Bill' Bus. A vehicle that operated successfully as many things on the Front, including troop transport, wireless communications, and even a carrier-pidgeon version.

It would look something like this:

and this:

I've got the basic Omnibus built and painted, including the base coat of WWI-era olive drab....I just need to do the 'kit-bashing' portion.

I know this project is a little off-the-beaten-path, but hopefully I can finish it if allowed the extras time.

regards,

Tread.

Frank, Gordon I am not the almighty, merely a messenger ...erg... . He says that he sees it fit to grant you the extensions (as to all those who PM'd me )

Anyway today the campaign ends. Again if you aren't able to finish by tonight, PM me ASAP.

Thanks to everyone for their participation and cooperation. Unlike in school, where I find I have a surprisingly large amount of free time I don't at work so, over the next couple weeks I will be tallying everything up. Thanks again.

Here it is!

After much school, work, and procrastination, I needed to get an extension to "finish" this.

It's not diorama ready.....Martinnnn and I are working something up for this and a howitzer to sit on, so I've not totally done everything as we are not sure just what the setting, surrounds, or theater will be. So, for now, it's a Jeep that's been sitting in a motorpool instead of out on the battlefield.

My finished entry:

And the vehicle I "modeled:"

Jeff - I've taken care of the little bit of housekeeping you asked me to this morning. Awards can be bestowed whenever you're ready.

Also, if there are any more issues you'd like me to take care of, just PM me like you did and we can straighten them out.

There are some wonderful Wheeled Vehicles displayed in this thread - makes me feel so good inside looking at that wonderful work all in one place.

Wheels III has got to happen sooner than later, in my opinion...

Just checked my account page, looks nice. I had to count all of them. I just finished my 11th group build.

Fun build. We're going to have to do another wheeled vehicle campaign next year. How about a "gun fighter" campaign where the truck must have a machine gun mounted on a ring or pintle for self defense?
