Pedro, do you have a link to any more photos of that Peugeot car? I would like to do that vehicle, weather it up like a typical softskin vehicle.

Here's a link to scanned article from "Auto Moto und Sport"
unfortunately its in german, but it has some nice photos, esp.
the last page gives some nice detail pictures. This is the best
google spit out so far about the 205.

I will be in with the Revell / ex-Matchbox 1/32 Autounion Typ C, driven by Tazio Nuvelari during the 1938 season.

Oh, Robin, I have built that Peugeot once in the past. It's a neat little piece of kit. To bad it's now in pieces though ( mine that is ).

And your right about the tobacco decals.. they are forbidden nowadays ( at least in Europe ). You probably can still get some aftermarket decals somewhere, but I am not sure you can for 1/43 Camel decals ( 1/24 Marlboro is common though ).

Pedro, thanks for the link. Those pictures will be sufficient for me to build the kit with a little bit of detail. I'm not concerned with the lack of tobacco decals. I was more worried about the vague color guides on the Heller instruction sheet.

Hi everyone,

I need help with something. Eventhough I have miles to reach that stage, I am thinking about building a diorama with my car and I'm trying to figure out what sort of a rally course would be proper.

I have the Tamiya Repsol Ford Escort kit. It is hard for me to get my hands on extra car pieces and stuff, so I need to find a type of track that would fit the original tires that come with the kit. Could anybody help me with that? Should I post the pictures of the tires?

Hi Emre!
You could possibly post some picture of the tyre for the ID,
but... It's a rally car so I think it's safe to say that with one type
of tyres car drives through different types of roads in one
stage of the rally. So you could possibly place it on the track
surface you like regardless the type of tyres (well, maybe
excluding snow tyres )

Grzegorz thats a good idea on keeping the questions open in the fourm. I also have a great auto building tip article w/ photos. I have submitted it twice I could post it here, but it's sorta long. Maybe I'll post each tip w/ it's photos separately.

Ok, here are the picture of the tires (Sorry it's foggy, the macro keeps on focusing somewhere to the back of the tires)

I definitely know they are not snow tires, but I can't figure out if they are specifically mud or gravel tires. I would like to go for mud if possible, since I'm a dedicated AFV builder and like my models dripped in mud or covered in dust

Hi Emre,

Most Rally car models are decal specific to a certain race, and therefore need specific tyres. Unfortunately, some model manufacturers do not take this into account and give you ther wrong tyres. Slick tyres with decals for a snow rally come to mind!.... With that in mind nobody here is going to question your combination of decal-tyres. your tyres look to be gravel tyres, but would look fine covered in mud.

Well, I'm an idiot!

Last night I got bored so I decided to take a few of the chrome parts from my Rambunctious kit and let them soak in some Easy Off. Only thing is, I did'nt have any Easy Off. So, I figured carburetor cleaner would be just as good. I sprayed some in a metal can and put in some parts and this morning all that was left was a big pile of silvery goo.

My valve covers, supercharger, and front engine cover are completely screwed. So unless I can find another kit at my LHS (which is unlikely) to get some spare parts from, I'll probably have to change my entry. If anyone out there has these parts for this kit I'd be willing to buy them if I can't find another Rambunctious kit to replace them.
So for now Joe, looks like you beat me. Broke at the starting line.............what a way to loose.

Darn...well I do have some parts to get you back on the starting line. Send me a PM w/ your address and I'll look for them. See that why you use Super Clean or Simple Green, it's safe all-around. Let me know what all you need.

I found something else while going through the stash. A curbside Zakspeed Capri. I may try to squeeze that in too.

I 'm making a small change to my entry for this build ,after looking at the first choice that I made . I'm still going with a Carroll Shelby Mustang ,its just going to be a GT350R insted of a '69 Shelby GT-500 .

The GT350R model .

not the best pic - I'll have to look around and see if I can find a better one later .

Thanks to Mother for sending me some spare parts, valve covers, blower, engine cover, etc... I'm back in the game!

My little 426 Hemi is in the machine shop as we speak getting punched out, line bored, deck milled, and a few other goodies. The flat tappet cam is on the way and the heads will be CC'd and ready to go by the end of the week. Now, if I can get my welder guy to show up I'll get started on the tube frame.

I’d like to enter this build, but have a question first.

Monogram’s 1/24 STP Firebird Pro Stock (Rickie Smith) does it depict the 1990 or later model Firebird?

Eric,
As Pedro mentioned the Pontiac Firebird "Tricky Ricky" Smith drove is a 1990, he also drove the same car in 91. Thats looking at the registration number on the drivers window "#264"
