Hi Mitch and welcome to the G-SYE! Campaign!
Your racer indeed looks like fun, don't forget to post progress
pics, either here or by starting your own thread.
Do you know the story behind this strange and unusual vehicle?

As for the Alfa Romeo, I think it would be
nice if you'd post progress pictures on that one also
OK; here are some WIP pictures.
One of the front fender supports was broken and I had to replace it with a "home made" piece out of Andrea sculpt. Perhaps I also could have used a platsic rod, but the sculpt was easy to shape in the right "S" form, and after painting, you almost don't see the difference.
The seats are a bit to dark: I was giving it some extra shade. They have to be "lightened up" a bit.
Also, I'm using some dark paint to shade between the spokes. Still experimenting on that.

We had our annual 24 hr LeMans build this weekend. We get together and build a LeMans car in the process of watching the Speed channel race coverage. Speed channel covered 18hrs of the historic race, so we filled in the rest with some world cup football. I took this opportunity to build my campaign car, the Fisher resin 24th scale Matra Simca 670 1972 LeMans winner driven by Henri Pescarolo and Graham Hill. The model is about 95% completed, I'll post some larger photographs once I complete it and mainly, after I get some sleep!!!!!
The other entries where Rob, (CDNRacer) Heller 24th scale Porsche 917, Evan, Tamiya 24th scale Porsche 936, Trevor Tamiya 24th scale Porsche 962 (with resin replacement doors) Steve, Hasegawa 24th scale Toyota 2000, Rene, Tamiya 24th scale Nissan.(DNF) All the models where built and completed within the 24hrs.

Nice work men! great coverage on Speed, whoda thunk a diesel would win a race?
That Simca is great, I've just finished topcoat on 3 917s and 1 GT1 for a show in October, hope mine turn out as well as your cars.
Cheers
Pete

Sorry for the bad pic, I just got a new cam, and am still learning how to operate it properly.
It's what is now finished of my Autounion Typ C. Sadly, one of the wheels allready has broken off ( left front ).
Anyway, I am working on it.
In the meantime, the bodywork has been prepared to recieve a coat of Tamiya TS 17 Gloss Aluminum.

Well done Peter, I really like the late race 'cruddup' look, makes me want to throw on Steve McQueen's LeMans movie! I'm not sure if there's going to be a ribbon for us finishers, haven't heard from our leader, Pedro in a while.
