Not as funny as the first name on the list - if pronounced properly

In fact both mean the same thing, one is just more "colourful" than the other

Could it be said that the tank carrying one of those names may have been particularly hard to locate?

G'day all,
With this kit coming out I had a look at an old web site to see if it had been updated. And it has.
Lot of photos and stories.

And you can order Centurion Mantlet Cover at that website! Of course it is 1:1 scale, so it has to be shrunk to fit to AFV Club Cent :-)

Hi all
those who are not aware I have been involved in this project for some time. well I have two of these brilliant kits.
Briefly you can build a Mk 5 from any nation as well as both a Vietnam and later use Australian version . it also includes some parts of a Mk11 . bad news is it does not have the modification parts added when in Vietnam.
I am building them as a review.
Ok some little bad things or things which I do not like. No mantel cover, rubber wheel treads.
Good things so much to say Rubber tracks are as good as the individual links, fluimetal fit sprocket. Detail is brilliant and accuracy through out the kit is spot on, this is the best model kit I have ever built in all the time I have been building models. By the way there are more to come. The individual track box tells you a UK Mk 11 & UK Mk 5 Dozer. This would mean from the Mk 11 kit alone you can build any nation except for the minor differences.
Whatch for me doing them all and showing you how .
Not used any filler yet
I am building the review by building two Australian versions one straight out of the box,
Another is my converted AA centurion Dozer kit to 169071 this will look great long side the AFV kit and with the other I will build another nations from the kit.
I can not say how good this kit is except it is brilliant. After market boys will be disappointed maybe resin wheels but they will lose the detail in side the rims, or a engine bay so when you have the engine decks open you can see the engine.
You don’t even need etch brass, I have two sets of Eduard’s and not used any.
Just Brilliant
Ossie

Ossie,
Thanks for the update.
Have you gotten to the fume extractor assembly yet? Just curious if you will have to cut off the muzzle end of the metal barrel to fit the fume extractor as was done in the PMMS review.
I would like to see some after market conversions pop up like the South African Olifant Mk.2 and the Mk.5 105mm AVRE

hi steve
yep I kept it quite for two years :-)
ok I will let you know when i post and where i post the reviews,
you know I have built the Centurion ARK and planning to build it scratch in 1/25 again it is the most complicated Centurion .
That it was my very first drive in a Centurion and what a memory i have. walking into a hanger and not seeing any light inside it , reason two ARKS parked side by side, so high and long , yet when you drove them they were the easiest to drive because of the center of gravity.
not to keen about going in the water though , once was enough for me.
back to the AFV kit. the detail is brilliant, i am not just saying that but it really is good.
Steve you know how critical I am about the Centurion and I am not afraid to say what I feel about a Centurion kit. well mate I am getting a few more , I love it. a lot and planning which version to build next. by country.
this is what you can build from using the kit parts.
Danish, Dutch,CANDIAN Swedish strv 102, Swiss , Jordan, Australian two versions, Israeli initial version.
but when the Mk11 comes even more but all these would require some changes due to the countries own modifications.
but if you want to build the most accurate Centurion BUY AFV
hope fully end of next week I will finish it, off to a ARMY reunion this weekend to drink be merry and have fun
Beltring looks good, let ,me know when you are going.
this is just a taster

Ossie,
Sorry, yes I meant the Mk12H AVRE 105mm...that's the version with the split Commander's hatch, correct?
Ya the Olifant...good luck finding scale plans.
Good to hear the barrel thing is sorted out....I won't believe it until I see it personally.

hi
no sorry the split commanders hatch there was only one mk 13 avre 04cc87 i drove it , it was used only for mine plough trials and driver training.
mk 12 same back end as mk13 but same commanders hatch as the rest . one piece. like candian version.
