Hi all,
After a long break i am slowly getting back into the swing of things.I started last year on two rather large dio's and learnt a huge lesson.I wanted them to look just as good as some of the fine examples you see here on the Big A.Unfortunately i got a little bit out of my depth with both of them.So from now on i'm going to keep it small and simple and hopefully complete it in this lifetime!!Anyways,i have got my hands on a resin base(12cm x 12cm) and need to know if automotive primer will be suitable enough for the first groundcoat.Having not worked with resin at all,i don't want to make a hash of it all!Cheers,Shay

Auto primer is fine to use.

Wash it thoughroughly with soap and water first, especially if there are any undercuts, to remove release agents. After that, auto promer will work fine. You can always test the primer on the usderside to make sure.

Wash it thoroughly with soap and water first,

And then grab the resin base :-)
Sorry Al, was there for the taking...
And Shay, what gives with the big dio with the ruined building?
Was looking a treat...
Cheers

Thanks for all the tips guys.
I'll post some pics within the next day or so with the base primed.Brad,(nice to hear you won at last! ,BTW how's the new house? ) the other dio with the ruin that i was working on just got a little out of hand.I didn't realise how much time would be invested into it and i was basically at my wits end ..(attention deprived)wife included :-) !!
So,for now i'll just be content getting smaller dio's completed and when my skill level has improved i will try my hand at finishing the other one sometime in the future!
Cheers,Shay

Yep and what a win...
Pity I'm injured... Wonder if I can get tmrw off work? Hmmm...
As for the house it is going great guns... First and hopefully last big project will be to rip out the kitchen and floorboards and rebuild... Maybe Ikea I dunno...
