I'm going to leave the deadline decision up to Keith and the other Judges.

I would love to see everyone complete their work regardless of when. Lots of mutual help and energy was conjured up and I the creativity and resourced used was amazing.
Oh hey - shazam! In the cycling world if you start a race and don't finish you get a DNF (Did Not Finish) as your time and place. Maybe we could have a DNF kind of a thing where the images get posted just not judged.

I finished two days before the deadline, but I don't know of anyone who has a digital camera, so my dio is just sitting on my desk

As it is for me ( I finished it before the deadline) it`s not a problem if it`s about an extension for the competition ending date. This were such a cool couple of weeks and everybody put so much work in it that I think that for most of the contestants already have the feeling that they are winners because they made all terrific good entries. All the people who participated in this contest have tested with different ways on making dio`s ( at least that`s what I did) for me I`m also a winner already even I don`t know the judges words
I`m proud that I participated in this contest and that I got so much help from my fellow modellers and I really liked the updates and stories behind it.
As far as I`m concerned I don`t give a damn if the ending date will be moved to another day or week or month so that the people who are a bit too late could finish their jobs and show it to us all
I just want that everybody that participated has the same feeling that I have. I `m happy with the outcome of my own dio and I really enjoyed watching the entries of everyone else. I`m satisfied with the knowledge that my modelling experience have been extending the last two months and I really learned a lot
so to end my story: If the ending date will be removed to let the participants that did not finish at the exact date still finish I`m the last one to have problems with that. Then you have my vote .

I just added some of the preliminary ribbons for this campaign. I am by no means done if Keith or others come forward with more people who completed the campaign.

I had my dio done way early. Mainly because I was pumped about actually finishing something. I posted pics and recieved feedback and had a great time. I have "Nothing Left to Give" sitting right here and plan to take it to an IPMS contest in Indy in April. It has been fun. It has been motivating. I don't expect to win anything but the fact that I actually finished something is reward enough for me. I sent my entry in yesterday, right under the deadline. I could have sent them in 2 weeks ago. Anyway, thanks for the motivation to actually finish something. It really has been fun. Oh, the digital photos don't really do the diorama justice. That, however, is all part of of it.

Again, it has been fun.

As for the deadline debate...... I leave it up to the judges too. There are a lot of pro's and cons on that matter. What I would regret, is to see that all the effort from those who haven't entered at this moment would be lost.... We all have put in so much work and worked at it with real team-spirit, that it was a joy to participate.... It's up to the judges and I'll accept their decision as it is.

Thank you for the ribbon, Jim. Like the others, I have enjoyed this contest so much. Who could have thought a little 4x6 diorama could be so much fun. The main thing is this contest got me building again. For that, I am thankful.

I have been reading much about this contest and at the last moment decided to submit a little vignette I just finished.
I promise to participate in the formums more often during the next contest (spring??) .

My question: is there going to be a separate gallery section with all the sumissions? So we can all have a vote too ... the popular vote? Doesn't have to have a price attached to it, just the honor of getting some votes of any peer would be fantastic.

Very nice ribbon - great competition. I´d like to thank all fellow modellers for being so fantastic "brothers in plastic arms" during the campaign. I think we all can be proud on the level we reached together in this contest. So a big cheerio goes for Armorama and the World Wide Web!

Hey, Belgian I had volunteered to do a People Choice type of Thread in a Forum Post fashion. I was going to have people just add to a post as to which they found to be Best of Show, Most originial Idea, Cheapest, Most creative use of a resource etc. Going through a Forum post takes some of the workload off Jim with a Vote option. He's pretty busy!
The images are going to be posted so everyone can see them and then add to the thread. I'd compile the results and do a final post.
If eveyone still wants to do that chime in.

Thanks for the great campaign!
The result was something totally different than I could imagine in the beginning. Just goes to prove that there are things money can´t buy and many ideas develop when you try to be cost-effective .
I found the brief very good, those restrictions helped me a lot along the way. All the wonderful entrys show that some given things are not necessarily restrictive but help out in the beginning and help in deciding the theme.
So far I´m the most satisfied with this work. Everything was new, some techniques developed along the way and it was a real learning experience...

There IS a new competition starting right now. Probably even two. Check the forums of science fiction and figures for a post on campaigns. Finishing date is 28 feb for sci-fi.
In March, you can probably expect a HUGE armor campaign. So there's a lot happening already !

I'm glad everyone seems to be pleased with the campaign contest... and appreciative of the fact that so many folks have stated the "bizarre" requirements of size, cost, and "the darn window" made people really think creatively. If nothing else, it dispells the rumor that our hobby is EXPENSIVE and LARGE.... it can be, but doesn't have to be! The most expensive list I have seen yet is around $13.00 US, and yet the finished products are excellent!

It has been fun for me as well, and I look forward to seeing all the finished works.

As for the deadline... here are my thoughts... If you TELL me that you are finished, but "just don't have your photos done yet" (a common complaint from a few people), be aware that I will accept your photos until this Saturday (Jan 19th)... there simply MUST be some deadline so we can get all the photos posted and then judged, so the award can go out by January 31st as promised. Jim, Ken, and I have "real jobs too", and there is only so much time we can spend on this project before our wives start hiding the zimmermit and our putty in protest, eh?

At any rate, I don't want anyone to feel they have been short-changed - regardless of the reason. or circumstances... I was even going to allow Volkie to "spread his branches" a bit beyond the base... shame he decided firewood was more important!

So - with that all said and done, get your photos to me ([email protected]) quickly, and then go by and view the work submitted to date... the folder location is:

GALLERY -> DIORAMAS -> SUBMIT CONTEST PHOTOS HERE

And YES... we will use a POLL to determine a "peoples choice" award!
