Wow. Panther D looks great. Lots of nice improvements too. Cant wait for this one.
MDFC also has a few pics of the new Marder 2. The amount of detail in this kit makes this one look like a real winner. Cant wait for that one to hit the LHS.

Finally some good news ! Really nice stuff
Good to see that Dragon will do a Premium Edition for the Panther Ausf D. Looks like an excellent kit. The Panther Ausf D is one of my favorite versions of the Panther, so one of these will be finding its way into my stash
1/72nd T-34/85 looks good too. I already have Dragons other T-34/85 kit, but this one with the "bedspring armor" looks cool too !
Pre-orders up !!!
Thanks for posting this, Jim.
Cheers !!

The T-34 looks good. They are quickly cornering the market on the 72nd scale T-34 line. One thing I've noticed is that they are not just slapping a new turret or new detail pieces on the various hulls. Most of the T-34s are really different from one another.

Nice job Dragon! They changed the one thing that was probably the single biggest gripe against their early Panthers, (D & A) separate road wheel arms. This is one premium edition kit I'll definitely be picking up.

Has anyone noticed that the Panther tracks have the hollowed out guide tooth? Looks like I'll be getting this one too!

I did see them earlier on the Dragon forum, but I am impressed, I think I will have to consign my Tamiya Panther G to EBay..........well think about it and the T34 is a must the Mattress armour looks superb. Dragon cant seem to be stopped at this time, too many last purchases to sneak by the wife.

John, you probably know this but just in case, the Dragon kit is a Panther D. There are quite a few differences between the D & G. You might want to hold on to that Tamiya Panther G. (at least for now, if Dragon retools their G then I might join you )

Mike

That great news about the Panther....looking forward to it.
It would be nice if Dragon would sell the magic tracks separatly...I have several of their Panthers already in the stash.

The extension of the "Premium" kit strategy to the Panther line for DML I hope signals a broader trend along with their expansion on the 1/72 front.
The one area that my build stash is lacking are Panthers....and I think I've found the perfect gap filler. :-)

T-34/85! Yay! More great Russian tanks!
Now if they make 1/35 versions of their amazing 1/72 T-34 product lines, I believe that many will be delighted!

I smell smoke in my wallet and i think it will be catching fire soon...
The Panther and the T34/85 with bed-spring is a dream come true for me....but why is it in 1/72 for the T34/85 ???
Also heard the Dragon will be coming out with the improved JS-2 with lots of correction and magic track as well in a few months....If there is going to be another Big and Beefy Campaigns, let hope it is after the improved JS-2 has been release.....

I dont normally take much notice of articles regarding braille scale ( sorry Jim :-) )
BUT the T34 with the added mattress type armour looks amazing ,I will keep a look out for this one at my LHS
I hope DML intend to release it in 1/35th too.

No need to apologize, I was in a similar position until a few months ago, certainly, I had built a few models in 1/72nd, but when I started reviewing and building the 1/72nd scale T34s from DML, my attitude changed radically. Also, having had the opprtunity to review and build the M4a3 from DML, helped to strengthen my 'convictions' even further..
It's a bit like the 'debate' over 1/48th vs.1/35th - until you actually start buiding them, you don't realize just how damned good they actually are.
Although we aren't as 'specialized' on this site re. 1/72nd and 1/48th, it's an area we're going to have to consider seriously for the future and see if we can't get considerably more content in BOTH of these scales...Jim

Yes, but the "bedspring armor" version hasn't been done in 1/34. Maybe one of the AMS makers will step up to the plate.

Even better if DML included it in a kit and save £££££'s/$$$$$$'s on purchasing AM parts

I just bought the T-34. After building the T-34/72 1941 I expected to have some interior detail on the gun, but the kit is made of very few parts -and quite expensive. (16 bucks in the local hobby shop. 3 more and I could have bought the 1/35 scale DML T-34... and the King Tiger was $9.)
Anyway, it's kind of a disappointment, but still makes a nice "weekend" kit.
One question: how do you paint fine mesh? Every time I tried with an airbrush, it clogged up.

Hi,
I am a bit disappointed too that prices are up but what can you do
For painting try thinning paint as much as possible and paint extremely light layers one at a time. It can be slow business but only way to go.

Thanks for answering. The thing is, that if the paint is thin, then it will form small dropets of thinned paint on the surface -especially if its metal. (It's been a great pain for me: I tried to spray 90% thinned paint as described by others, but no matter how lightly I "fogged", it always ended up not covering the surface but creating "puddles" of painted thinner.
