I hope some guys will have fun to build these

about the 40mm gunned truck....I think the sides are something to high....on my pictures it looks like the gun can be positioned more down as in your kit....but anyways...it looks awesome!!!

Hi Wolfik

You may be right about the height, I only had that one photo in the group posted to work with and drew my plans up from there. The lower two pictures have the gun higher up, but that is because it is mounted directly onto the cargo bed and not a turntable like the second photo, which was the wartime conversion armoured up.

Enjoyed building it, I like trucks with big guns in the back!

Regards
Dus

Nice gun truck. How was the conversion? I've never heard of "Masters models" before.

Howdy fellas,

Very nice pics wolfik thanks for sharing them. And thx also for the assist Dave and Jim

I hadn't seen your build before either sahariana, but it looks like you built the one that stood out to me as well in the series of photographs provided. And considering you only had one photo to work with, kudos to your efforts.
I don't suppose you have any more 'in-progress' pics we can look at? I would like to see more of the detail in both the conversion kit as well as your sheet styrene work...

Further, in the photo below the one that you built off of {the 3rd photo down}, there appears to be some sort of structure just forward of the gun mounted in the cargo bed of the truck. It looks like it's somewhat deep {approx. 2-3 feet} and has rounded over top edges....can anyone identify what that is??

Tread.

I'd take a wild guess and say they were the ammo lockers.
I believe "Master Models is actually "Master Productions"
who make a Bofors conversion for Tamiya/Italieri duce and a half.(Reference #VV35004)

I have submitted an article and some more pics onto www.warwheels website. The article should answer alot of questions, if not send me a message.
Dave you are quite right it is a masters productions bofors gun.

Cheers

So Kevin, fermenting in Alabama for fifty+ years... waiting to say nasties about the French.
Free French forces numbered half a million in ww2, thats 40 divisions.
Even as a fatigued nation, they still supplied troops and material to Korea and the 1950's and 60's African conflicts, advancing US interests.
Held on in Vietnam way past the point of their own benefit.
I was in Germany in the 60's and knew French troops.
They'd be delighted to discuss masculinity with you. Even now.
By the bye, didn't a bunch of Yankee merchants kick the [auto-censored] outta you Southern Knights a few years back.
Which hand's YOUR white flag in? ...still
You call others coward easily, ...must be quite the hero...
Still love Armorama, the Armor modeling site!
So, substitute a OOO brush for the little brush that comes with a Testor's Plastic Cement bottle? ...a good idea...
Thanks for the excellant photos Grumpy .

Very good points Don.

Perhaps my pent-up feelings over our aircraft not being allowed to use their "air-space" some time back is still sits too near the surface. I will and need to work on that. Your rebuttal to my comments is fully warranted and I thank you for reminding me of their attributes as soldiers fighting for other's (and their own) freedoms.

They did do a good job in VietNam under the same conditions we labored under for way too many years. We should have realized it was a lose-lose situation by the way the French were worn out by the NVA.

You forgot to mention the French Foreign Legion. A brave group if they’re ever was.

Again Don, very good points and many thanks for "showing me" the error of my ways. And if you wore a uniform for our country as a member of our armed forces, thanks for serving.

Back to the truck photos, what a wonderful look at their Ingenuity and field modifications. Here all this time I thought the Americans ground forces had develope this version of the GunTruck. Is this fact made mention of in the Hard Ride books? Noting gets past the members of THIS site. Armorama Rules.

As for the War between the States, i'm from New Jersey, but my Gr Grandfather did serve the Confederate States as a Capt. and was killed in action. His remains were never found and or buried. And I have quite a few French speaking relatives in Canada.. My comments were really meant to be aimed at the politics of the French Government and instead inflicted a wound against their soldiers. My bad. I regret any harm towards them.

Cheers and have a great weekend up there in the land of the ZOU
