Gidday all.

For the past umpteen months I have been thinking about trying 1:72 scale and have finally bought a couple of dragon kits to test them out.
Cheap as chips they were $12.00 each.

Are there some tips, other than replacing my eyballs in 6 months, that may help me tackle this new scale.

I usually only build in 1:35 but thought I'd give this new scale a try, not cause they are cheap but rather test my skills.

Any help most welcome.

Cheers and good luck

Which kits did you get? Dragon's 1/72 scale line matured very quickly and went from marginal to excellent in just a couple of years. An early kit might be marginal and a later kit is most likely superb.

Their kit numbering system back tracks so a lower number may be a newer kit than a comparable higher number. On the whole, they are great kits and a super value.

Enjoy yourself, I'm also venturing into Braille Scale for a few items. (maybe I'm just prepping myself for a return to 1/72 scale aircraft.... :-) ) But so far it's been a challenge, and fun, even with the older shaking hands, and stronger lens.

Yeah I just started buying a few of Dragon's 1/72 stuff (newer ones)! I had to switch, my 1/12 car and 1/35 collection was taking up too much space had to go smaller, and given that Tamiya's 1/48 range is sorta limited and pricey (didn't stop me from buying most of the kits) I figured I would try something new............big change from 1/12 cars and my 1/16 scale R/C stuff!!!

Gidday Sabot,Dave,Jason.

The kits I bought were the 1:72 Armour series
M2A2 ODS Bradley Iraq 2003
AAV-7A1 USMC Mogadishu 1993

The AAV-7A1 has the diecast hull and lid and the detail is supurb. This will be a quick build due to the limited parts to be attached.

The M2A2 has normal plastic moulding but also has supurb detailing. I can't beleive the detail in this scale is so good.

My space is also limited jason so this may be a refreshing change to address this problem.

I'm looking forward to starting these projects once I finish my latest build.

Look forward also to posting some pics so you fella's can give me some constructive comments.

Cheers and good luck
