Hi. Just a thought. How 'bout some sort of light-hearted competition where we can win an Armorama Tshirt? Needn't be a direct modelling comp, but some sort of historical or trivia quiz.
Also, any plans to put out Historicus Forma and Shipwrights T's? I can help out with designs if needed.

I too was a little curious as to why they werent used as prizes a little earlier but i guess it would have been somewhat strange to give out T-shirts during competitions on a hobby site.
In terms of design, it would be nice to have some polo shirts with the logo embroided on them.

There have been issues with prizes since we started the first content drive competition in 2002. The problem in that instance was some folks who offered to donate prizes (kits and books) disappeared from the site by the time the contest was over and never sent them.
With the regular Model of the Month competitions, there seems to be contention regarding the voting process. We get claims of people's votes being deleted by the staff ("I had 10 votes yesterday and only 7 today"). They don't realize people can change their votes during the competition and the staff can only reset all votes to zero for everyone.
The complaints would only be more vocal if there was a physical prize at the end.

Wow,didn't know I could change my vote!(Rarely want to as there is a ton of time to consider it before button pushing).I had suggested giving out discount coupons as prizes before. They could be used at the T-shirt site.
Sad to say but,I don't think you'll be able to do anything with out someone complaining about something.Maybe have a complaint dept. link to a Microsoft 'Black Hole' :-) :-) :-)
cheers!

Sure. As Rick says, there'll always be someone moaning on about something. But doesn't mean we should not have competitions, surely? And a Tshirt's a sort of fun prize.

The vote changing thing comes from the fact that when some folks vote early, only a few kits are finished. They pop back into the site a week or two later and they see many more, sometimes better builds entered. Then they change their vote. Someone notices that votes for their kit has dropped and they get a bit miffed.Wow,didn't know I could change my vote!(Rarely want to as there is a ton of time to consider it before button pushing).

Robin, there is a physical prize at the end. In fact 3 of them. Also people cannot enter more models after the voting has begun, so people can't vote early, and then return to find better models. It doesn't work that way.

I agree with David's idea. It's so much fun to get other that kit/books as the prize. and i'm honoured to weat armorama t-shirt...i plan to buy but the postage is killing me.
hope the sponsor will throw some t-shirt or maybe if all agree, david can design the shirt for a special armorama issue...
